  1. im trying to figure out how to install this mod i have try'd the ways i have done my other mods and this one just keeps giving me a wrench as the load picture and the mod never loads anyone can please help thank you

    Make sure you dont have the mod in another folder. I think the mod shipped with 3 folder levels before the mod files. if you need more help you can pm me. 

  2. Looks to me like it's something with your map file. Is this the only map that gives you this issue (load up a mission or whatever) if so, I'd suggest replacing the map file (.e4m) with the original to fix this issue. 

    I concur with NFK i had this happen to me when i removed the VO under the hospital, replaced the map file and it worked fine. 

  3. So i have been thinking about this awhile, and like i said i really dont know all that much about modding.

    But, could you just set up buttons on the fire control panel similar to hoppahs call light force command in the la mod. Call it a mabas box alarm. It would send lets say an engine, ladder, and als unit and the battalion chief to the scene. If possible could we incorporate it to "call in" maybe an engine, truck, and med unit from "off map" from "another town" to do the change of quarters?

    If this is even possible maybe The battalion chief could then get call commands for 2nd, 3rd, and 4th level boxes. And just have it keep repeating some variations of above if its a huge fire and needs to go all the way to a 4th alarm mabas box. Each alarm it would send units from the stations to the scene and then back fill the houses with another out of town unit.

    If this is impossible, well then ignore my ramblings. But thought id throw the idea out there.

    No no you are right on with what i am thinking, however Its the change of quarters that is the issue. There is a virtual box for each engine that parks at each station, so for every truck (if its not a duplicate) a virtual object needs to be created. Example, Engine1 at station 1 has a box called Engine1, well for every unit that isnt Engine1 a virtual box needs to be created. 

     

    The more i am thinking about this it is something requires extensive editing and coordination with the dev team. 

     

    Im still thinking this over. 

  4. I just wish there was more than one tanker. In a real situation you would have at least four or more tankers on a house fire. That is the only thing I would suggest. Also I was thinking of a new script I thought would be cool, and it would add to the realism . . . maybe have like a trash line script, so that firefighters could just show up to a small fire and start putting water on it right away, rather than having to get a hose out and connect it just for a small brush fire or trash fire.

     

    If you edit the fp_params_endless.xml and change the <MaxParkingSpace value="35"/> value to something higher than 75 (75 is the number of starting units). I have mine set to 150, that way i can buy lots of tankers, i also send 1 tanker per engine called to the fire. 

  5. Haha. I know exactly how you feel. Same thing at the hospital but yeah I guess that is the challange.

     I edited the number of units allowed because we were at 75/35 so i couldnt buy any more tankers, once i changed it i bought more tankers, anytime an engine rolls now i call a tanker for it :) 

  6. I don't know if this is a bug or not but a couple people including myself, can play the game perfectly fine and all of a sudden the game will crash. Does anyone know the reason behind this?

     

     

    Yes this is a known issue, you may want to copy the end portion of your log and submit a bug report. 

  7. When you release the patch would you mind making two downloads? One, the full package fully up to date and two being a package with just the files needed to update from 2.0.1 to 2.0.2? I only ask because I've modified the mod on my end a ton and don't wanna sort through what to keep and not to keep.

    you could just copy out your modded files then replace them after downloading.

  8. if you look in like C:\program files (x86)\sixteentons entertainment\ emergency4 (i think)  there is a file named log.txt when your game crashes it will output to the log file, if you scroll all the way to the bottom you will see the crash. This will give you an idea on what is causing the crashing

  9. have you looked at the em log files in the emergency root folder? 

     

    Already tried, but nothing has changed.

    It's strange because in the few minutes that I can play this mod, look all very fast without any lag (I read that many people have this problem)

  10. Played for 3 hrs tonight. I have had random CTD it seems like a call maybe triggering it? I am going to do some testing tomorrow to see if i can pinpoint the CTD issue. Some minor lagging, but my alienware seems to be handling it ok. 

     

    Great so far! I like the new volunteer script very realistic when i only get 2 or 3 guys for a structure fire.

    I think the biggest technical issue is that the script needs to be rewritten for every mod/map. If I build it how i am thinking i want to which is more of a template based system it will be easily added to any mod. I will see if i can play around with the scripting some tonight. its also difficult because i cant really follow any card/box system because they are all highly specific to each department.
