    Oh and concerning the equipment:

    We included many new tools, and "americanized" the ones that were available. They will all be "american style" so don't worry about that.

    just thought I would say, is it possible to have accidents/fires/crimes etc happen ingame that are said on the radio ?, would be very hard, even impossible, just a thought though

    Absolutely impossible. You cannot analyse the radio sounds in realtime, create a logical context and combine that in a game. No way Jose :D

  3. Hey there guys,

    it's been quite sime time since I last replied in this topic, but today I've got some news for you :)

    1. Graphical User Interface

    Today I started to replace the dummy graphics of our new interface with the ones that will be released. The mod will feature a brand new GUI, without any similarities to the standard EM4 one. So forget about the blue bars, and all those little command icons, you will not see them in our release version! Screenshots may follow in a couple of days :)

    2. FDNY radio stream

    From now on, you will be able to turn on the radio in any FDNY vehicle. This will trigger the FDNY live stream from www.thebravest.com. So you will be able to listen to real and live radio sounds while you play, and even control the sounds within EM4.

    A quite fast internet connection, in combination with a flatrate is recommended :P

  4. FF or Tim, you mention that things will not be very automated. Could you elaborate on this a bit? For example if, well when, you need to provide medical aid to a person, will you actually have to control the defib? Will you have to manually give some one say 15 chest compressions one at a time?

    Of course the gameplay is not that detailed, it wouldn't work. Imagine there are 4 patients, and 2 of them need CPR, that would be way to much work. We do not have much automatic stuff, but it is enough to make life simple, but still challenging :)

    FF, another question, in the videos you guys hadnt done any of the command icons yet. Can we get a preview of some of the new icons? Just a few to get the general idea to see if they look similar to the default icons?

    The Icons will be designed to look like the default icons, regarding colour and design.

    Will the patrol the city command keep ambulances in certain areas or is it a free-for-all, same goes for PD?

    You can call any vehicle you want to have at the scene, there are no limitations. It just may be that there are differences regarding the ETA of different units.

    Please stop translating your posts with online services. Nobody will understand it... if you have any questions, you would like to ask us, ask them in german, but Google translations are useless, they result in horrible english.

  6. I'm alive and feeling great :D

    I just did not have any time at the moment to work on sparetime activities.

    On saturday, I had a final examination of some EMS qualification, and I made it :)

    I hope that I can now continue working on the mod, as I should now have some more spartime left.

  7. is that picture nwy or old because the rims on the 10 brothers are still red and not silver.

    It's a new picture, the silver rims were accidentally overwritten, but they are not lost!

    The next shots and of course the download will feature the correct, silver, ones.

    So, will you be having lots and lots of ambulance models with different unit numbers, or if you dispatch lots of ambulances, will they all be Unit 343? Nice picture by the way.

    They will all be Unit 343. While we have individual Fire Department trucks, we do not have individual Ambulances. As you will need quite a few of them, we decided not to limit them, resulting in a fix "unit ID".

  8. You can't change that, the game is hard coded to just light a random thing on fire when the fire event comes up. That's why the game'll tell you there's an electrical fire, and it's a tree on fire.

    Of course you can change that, and that's just what we did. We wrote our own incident-trigger-scripts to make it work. You won't be called for an electrical fire if a tree is burning :)

  9. Our multiplayer concept was built upon 2 fire stations on the map. And every player would control only one vehicle, and there would be only one incident at a time. This would've been a whole new multiplayer gameplay style, but we did not proceed working on the multiplayer part. But who knows what the future will show :)

    I completely agree with that. In almost 4 years of playing Emergency, I never saved a freeplay game. It is especially useless in our mod, as there is nothing you can achieve or have to achieve.

  11. There's always a way around. *hint hint*

    No need to be mysterious.

    That's basic stuff, just calculate a new position, based on the actual one. Check if it's blocked, if it's free, let the vehicle go there and put it back on its path after X seconds. If the position is blocked, try another one.

    Someone on the german forum did that one or two years ago, and I rewrote the whole thing from scratch, working in a different way, a couple of months ago, civil cars that pull over is nothing special anymore.
