BTW LAPD K-9s respond faster than LASD K-9s.

Unless it's an LASD contract city, in which case the LAPD won't even respond.

Ed makes the CHP sound like road side assistance with guns. Here is the CHP Mission statement:

...and here is the CHP field operations/career path. Quit a lot more to choose from than just 'traffic'. The CHP are the ones who protect the governator, by the way

Meh... I rather enjoy the unrelated, random emergencies.... but it would be kinda cool to get a call about a person down and after you ask a few nearby witnesses, you find he was assaulted and the raid the guys house

Free play is fun, but after the 4th heart attack/stroke I'm pretty much done with both.

I'd love some more missions. I wish the mod people would make more of them.

So if that happens the only option is to have the police blow it up, the fire department put out the flames and the tow truck come drag it away....to clear a traffic jam?

I edited so that I only start with $5000 and only get $600 for budget costs - Which means if I get a bomb early on, I usually can't afford to dispatch the bomb squad. Times are tough in California right now.

Isn't there a set number of events that can occur in freeplay? I assumed this to be limited by the software, not the modder.

So make a virtual object with the parameters you listed, place the light and that is it? No script work needed?

I might have found another small issue with the map. Cars don't seem to run of the map at the West side bridge. Anyone else have this ?

I have the same thing, followed by traffic lights that are always red and civilian cars that don't respond to directional lights or traffic cops.

Trying to figure out how to make traffic lights or stop signs that work in freeplay. Can anyone help?

I'm not sure why this always happens to me, and nobody else. I still get traffic jams on the west side of the map - Vehicles exiting the map over the bridge just seem to stop...and not exit. Is there a tutorial for making traffic lights? Maybe I can add some for myself only to break things up.

Using Patch 2.

It seems that traffic jams in front of the police station still happens due to AI cars trying to turn left from the right lane. Is that a game/ai issue or can it be fixed?

I can keep it running smooth on my first play, but when I save and then re-load the game - It always has mass traffic jams and cars that won't respond to cops redirect orders and red lights that never seem to turn green. Frustrating.

Since the LAPD deployed 40 foot officers in the Hollywood and Highland area earlier this year crime has dropped considerably, city officials announced today. An overall reduction in crime has dropped 26% and more specifically, there has been a 21% drop in robberies, 29% decrease in burglaries and a 40% percent decline in auto theft.

I've had about 4 'Hostage Situations", but there are never any hostages, just some dude with a gun - Is that bug or just the game's dumb AI?

Also, I forgot what unit has the negotiator in it....remind me please. :

• The police option to have units chase and arrest is a very nice feature.
  
• I like the code 4 and 6 touches, nice realism.
  
• The damage radius for exploding cars seems low (IMO) A car next to a car that explodes should catch fire - Doesn't seem to happen
  
• I'd still love to see mounted police
  
• Residential areas look really good
  
• Money seems too abundant. I reduced my start budget to $8500 - Any way to make it so that it costs money to deploy a fire unit (from the station) rather than only costing money to purchase?

Maybe you could get a webcam and point it at your monitor so we know when you're working and how it's progressing.
