  1. Well, here is my events along with what responds to them...which I use the same concept as where I am from, I listed what my area emergency vehicles respond to as well:

    Vehicle:

    Car Accident: Engine 2 (BLS Engine), USAR fire truck, 2 pd units, enough ambulances as well as towtrucks.

    [My area: Engine 3 (Fire engine), Squad 1 or 2 (Equipment), ALS ambulance service (whichever is on duty), 2 police cars, as well as tow when called.]

    Car Accident in water: USAR fire truck w/ diver and 1 USAR ff, ALS ambulance, Tow truck, and Fire Dept. Crane

    Car Fire: Engine, PD unit, Towtruck.

    [My area: Engine 3, Squad 1 or 2, police, and fire chief.]

    Fire:

    Building Fire: Engine 1, Light force (BLS & Ladder), Battalion, 1 PD unit. [Mutual Aid needed: Rest of my engines, and buy water tender, ladder]

    [My Area: Engine 3, Squad 1 or 2, police, fire chief, ambulance on standby. (ladder called if needed) [Mutual Aid: Area fire departments along with Engine 1 and 2.]

    Gas Explosion: Engine 1, Light Force, Battalion, PD units [Mutual Aid: Rest of available engines, water tender, ladder]

    Small Fire: Engine 2

    [My Area: Engine 3]

    Forest Fire: 2 USFS Fire engine pumper, Engine as needed, 2 brush trucks. If I am lazy I just send in the airplane.

    Medical:

    ALS Ambulance

    [My Area: Squad 1 or 2, ALS ambulance service.]

    Police:

    Murder: 1 PD unit, BLS on standby.

    Bank Robbery: 1 PD unit, LASD van. Ambulance if needed.

    Hostage: Heavy Rescue and FBI, Ambulance on standby.

    Shoplifting, Pickpocketing: 1 PD unit.

    Demonstrators: SUV w/ swat. Slicktop w/ swat. LASD van. Ambulance on standby.

    Suicide [Person in water]: USAR w/ diver and USAR ff, LAPP pd, Boat transporter [for boat], and BLS ambulance.

    Suicide [Jumper]: USAR w/ USAR ff, 1 PD unit, LASD van

    Disaster:

    Earthquake: Fires: I send Engines, Ladder, USAR if needed. Medical: I send EMS supervisor, ambulances. I send PD to all calls that will need traffic control.

    Here is what I mainly do at the beginning of freeplay:

    1.) Call out LASD van, LASD patrol car, CHP charger (2), CHP patrol car (2), LAPD charger (2), LAPD motorcycle (2). Place van at police station and rest are on patrol. Sometimes I put some of them on standby in areas that have high crime rate.

    2.) I call in one more Engine 2 and Engine 1 to put them in Fire Station 1 as well as ALS ambulance.

    3.) Put EMS Supervisor and Engineer at the gas station for when I need them to fix vehicles or heal my units.

    That's mainly all I do....I'm from a town of 12,000 so we don't have 3 engines and battalion responding to calls etc. as the bigger city does. I listen to scanner as well as watch which fire trucks go out on which calls if I am in the area of fire dept. I'll be working on a mod for my county here soon when I get familiar with the programs and do a few tutorials to learn how to mod and then when I get pictures of the fire trucks, police cars, ambulances etc, I'll post them.

    Hmm, favorite LAPD would be the charger but I like them all. My favorite CHP would have to be the Crown Vic. FBI unmarked crown vic and the FBI command center is sweet.

  3. Still.. it's a bug..

    Another thing, not a bug, but mostly stupid... the LAPD helicopter has spike strips LOL.

    You can fix that yourself if you don't like it there. just go to mods/LA mod/units/police and its in there under lapdhelicopter...just open the units xml file in there and take the spike strips off the list there.

  4. I think all you cando,is shoot them dead with a police officer,thats if this is a suspect,then send in an ambulance,and remove them with the stretcher,you also get an injured person under the wall sometimes,and you have to use the ambulance and stretcher team to remove them,hope this helps

    I tried to shoot the suspect but couldn't get the shoot icon to come up. So that's when I decided to call in the airplane. So I know what to do now when someone gets stuck in the wall.

  5. Hey guys, I am not having any luck with this gated wye. I am not sure if it is what I am doing or if it could be a bug. I'll give you the steps I take when using the gated wye. When I respond to fire that has spread quickly and farther from the roadway, I put up the gated wye to go farther. Anyways, I put out the wye and attached fire hoses to it until fire was out then I detached hoses and picked up the gated wye but for some reason, the gated wye was picked up but I couldn't reel in the hose because it went straight on the ground and it can't get picked up when its on the ground. So, now I can't move my fire truck from the scene due to the fire hose being attached. How can I fix this and Is there a certain distance I can only go on the wye?

    Any help is much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Has anyone been having any trouble with calls near the hospital. it seems that all the suspects get stuck in the wall and only way I can get them is either send the fire airplane and put heavy water on him to kill him so I can pick him up or start a new game. I tried to use a police officer to shoot or arrest him but no go. Anyone know a fix to this?

  7. hey i love the map but i have 1 question that i dunno if it was answered before but why does it take station 1 trucks so long to leave the station?

    I haven't been having trouble with mine yet. They leave when I want them. Only problem I had with fire stations at the beginning of the game is when I called for a ambulance or fire truck, the alarm didn't go off to call for them. So, I just went and clicked alarm and it worked thereafter :nixweiss: .

    You can't stop all events from happening because I think fires and injury calls are completely random. But if you want to change how often you want a event to happen or disable them, go into your Specs folder and open fp_parms_endless and scroll through there and change the <Enabled value = "1" /> to <Enabled value = "0" /> and that should disable it.

  9. Hopefully I am posting this where its suppose to be,

    This is for personal use. I am wanting to make emergency vehicles as well as civil vehicles of my town. I am going to get permission from the each department I want to put in here permission to take pictures of the vehicles so I can create them. Now since this is for personal use, I can just modify the vehicles that Hoppah made as well buildings correct? I am not going to change all of them if I can because I want to learn how to do make vehicles and buildings.

    1.) What are the major things I need to know or have made for this to happen?

    2.) What program is best for me, as a learner, would make things a bit easier for me to understand?

    I am understanding these a bit more as I am going through CAD right now so I think that will help me with making buildings at least because we are starting to build a house in there right now from scratch.

    3.) If I wanting to make my own lightbars, what program should I use?

    4.) Sirens, how do I go about making these. Do I just record them and put them on computer and convert them to a certain file to make them sound good in the game?

    5.) If I am wanting to change the map, is the editor the way to go?

    Thanks for your time on reading this and I hope someone can help me with this.

  10. Which one of the original T.V. series did you like?

    S.W.A.T is my favorite, as although it was short lived, the music was kickin!

    I loved watching the CHiPs T.V. Series. I used to watch it all the time when it was on TNT but then it went off air. It was on too late for people to actually get to watch it. 3am is a bit to early.

    I haven't got to see either one of these shows, gonna have to watch them sometime.

  11. Well.. I dont know what the problem is, but i can't run the map. When i replace the files, so its installed, and i enter the Freeplay (on Original map) it dosn't work. It exits the game, without any information, so it actually kicks me to the deskop.

    Did you try loading it again after that happened? Sometimes the game just crashes to desktop with no warning.

  12. Ok so, tell me if i'm doing this right, so i move the la mod v1.7(the folder with the downloaded maps ) i then take that folder and combine it with the maps folder in the la mod v1.8(hoppahs maps) and then what?

    not the whole folder. just the 'Maps' folder in the la mod v1.7 folder.

    For example: Open your la mod v1.7 folder (free play maps in it) You should see the folder Maps now. Then open the folder Maps and you should see your files you combined: newfreeplay.eft, freeplay.e4m, freeplay.dds.

    If you don't have the maps folder in there, you will just have to copy those 3 files and paste them in the maps folder of the la mod v1.8 folder. Either way it is the same amount of work.

    After you get done with this, do as I explained at the end of my post.

    Just load the game. go to modifications on startup screen, go to Los Angeles Mod v1.8 and select then load. It will take a few minutes to load. Then it should take you back to startup screen again. Go to freeplay, then continue and after loading, you should have the new map and still have all the LA Fire Trucks / Police Cars / Ambulances. you will end up at the fire station 1 where you will see fireworks and the alarm going off with everyone running out.

  13. ok so I have 1.8 and I heard it worked but i don't get the instructions, So I downloaded and put the 2 files together but then what, do I start the game and then go under the modifications and load up the map(its called Los Angeles 1.7) but then it wont work, then I tried to combine the two files but that didn't work ether. :nixweiss:

    If you got the LA mod and you are wanting to put this freeplay map in that mod then this is the step I took.

    You got everything correct but just need to make a minor change.

    After combining the files together where the Maps folder contains newfreeplay.eft, freeplay.e4m, freeplay.dds.

    Just copy that maps folder from 'Los Angeles Mod v1.7' to your Los Angeles mod v1.8.

    You can do this by opening my computer and take the following steps:

    My Computer / Program Files / Wizardworks / 911 - First Responders / Mods / Los Angeles Mod v1.8

    or

    I think Emergency 4 goes like this and theirs is in Sixteen Productions ** Correct me if I am wrong **

    My Computer / Program Files / Sixteen Productions / Emergency 4 / Mods / Los Angeles mod v1.8

    When copying, it will ask you if you want to overwrite, just click yes to all.

    Now your done. Just load the game. go to modifications on startup screen, go to Los Angeles Mod v1.8 and select then load. It will take a few minutes to load. Then it should take you back to startup screen again. Go to freeplay, then continue and after loading, you should have the new map and still have all the LA Fire Trucks / Police Cars / Ambulances.

    I hope this helps, and this is what you are looking for. If not, hope someone else could use that lol.

  14. Ummm... maybe. I havent quite gotten into modelling yet, as I'm currently using Hopphah's mod, so unfortunately I can't release it. But yes, something like that may come along eventually. I like the idea. :)

    Alrite, understandable. I would love to see the model pictures if you get around to them sometime in the near future. You are doing a great job on the other models (pictures you have posted). They are looking good.

  15. Hey, I thought you guys would be interested in this website. Not sure if any of you checked it out or not but I been looking at this site for many years. Its really interesting as what kind of police, fire, ambulance, and other emergency vehicles look like in certain parts of the state, country, and world. Its updated quite a bit from what I hear, when new cars come in, they post them. But it just gives you guys a look at what kind of emergency vehicles are out there.

    I know Mikes Photo probably uses this because I see a lot of his pictures on there ever since I began looking at this site. He does a great job on these pictures and I like to look at them. RWcar is another person that has quite a bit of pictures, and he does a good job as well. Keep up the good work you 2!!
