  1. Hey guys,
    Sorry to bump the topic, but I wasn't sure where else I could ask to get an adequate answer.

    I'm having a small camera problem that's actually becoming quite annoying
    In like corners or edges of the map where most of the fire departments are, I cant get the camera to move far enough over to gain access to those area's, and if i finally can its because I played with rotating and zooming on the camera to finally get it to pan to where I'd like it to
    Any idea's?

  3. I saw this comming, I didnt have high hopes for that reason. You really shouldn't start a mod without the proper help/staff in the first place.

  4. The tiller is ugly as sin the way it behaves... Its that simple... Trailers cant be made to have physics so they will ALWAYS behave as they currently do, for a small trailer this isnt an issue, for a large one it's very notable....

    Loving it in reality doesnt mean that the game will sadly like it too

    Not like one single tiller is gonna make or break this mod. Id rather not have it at all, then having it and having it be insanely unrealistic and budgy.

    So that decision is a good one, imho :P

    I actually just built a firetruck out of lego's, in real life, ill try to post pics later if my niece doesnt knock it apart

    :P. it can be used as an idea of what it could possibly look like,

    Also I was brainstorming, and realized that, almost anything that will end up being an animation (as in a firestation door going up in down) is going to look really off, with the lego look, i think there has to be a fine balance between making everything of lego's, but also making it look.. right.

  6. I do understand the decision to not bother with the tiller.

    but it has such amazing potential if it could just work correctly. I doubt there is any way to fix the way the trailer interacts with the enviroment. But, I do understand peoples dissapointment.

The next update will be a patch to resolve all the known issues that have been encountered and to put in a few features we just forgot to put into it that were supposed to be there, unfortunately one update to the mod is giving a fit so we're trying to resolve that one currently. There are only two issues left outstanding until the patch is complete, then it will be released once those things are done and verified.

    I'm sure I'm speaking for many when I say,

    I'm very patient and optimistic with this mod, as it was released without many of our knowledge, it came as a complete surprise and it is a very great gameplay experience.

    Everyone who is working on the mod: Take your time, and thankyou for your hard work :)

    I also personally appreciate the textual updates from mikey and nfk concerning the mod. It's always nice to know that the developers are active with the community.

  8. I think that fleet Mechanic's truck is a cool Idea, I could be a second technical rescue unit,

    That is something I don't think is a primary focus for us, duplicating units right now that is, since FSD has been replaced by ConEd engineers for calls, and the repair function at the station

    Another thing that would be cool in the mod, would be a follow command for the Highway patrol units, so you could have a police chase, be no felony stop like in the LA mod.

    I think this was something that we plan on doing. It will not be felony stop like the game, but it will be a script that allows a chase of some sort

    Another is a firefighter must get an EMT bag from the Res1cue or Squad 61 before he can stabilize, but a FF w/ scott wouldn't have too.

    Umm... I don't understand the second bit, about scott, but the rest, it's something I think brings it to the point of too real. Considering what they do, which isn't much, check vitals, and stabilize for a bit, you don't even need a first aid kit for that, since vitals is all manual checks for basics, and stabilizing is only for like +60-70% health anyways, so you're not doing much in the way of a medical kit being needed.

    And finally is it possible for the Paramedics to carry injured persons while carrying his EMT bag? Thanks. It is nice to have some new American Units, That aren't from the LA mod,

    You have probably never tried this in real life, but a regular ALS bag, I'm just talking the basics, not the drug bag or defib (we have three bags here, plus O2) weighs about twenty pounds and isn't something easy to carry. To fireman carry a regular person while carrying that, it wouldn't be easy... Plus paramedics here need to be able to team lift 250-300 lbs and I'm gonna assume that's the same or there abouts for NY. If so, and you expect someone to fireman carry a person their size, probably 170 or so, it just isn't gonna happen

    Itd take some scripting.

    but running water from hydrants to trucks and adding a tanker possibly,

    Would add a huge element of realism, and extreme difficulty

    I believe the Winterberg mod is like that

  11. Just remember no one ever said making a mod would be easy. Hell I started making a simple reskin, or so I thought. Then my wife and I has a Son, then we moved, and then, and then ... Life happens, throw in computer failures, and other unforeseen events and a simple mod can become quite complex. Then you have to look at one other aspect. Everyone makes a mod for a different reason, therefore their units, details reflect that.

    Example;

    THE New York Mod: Not a lot to say about them. They were the first ones on the block, but they had one goal in mind. Create a game with the type of depth and immersion no one has ever seen. Have they achieved that? Probably, but look how long they have worked on that mod to get it to where it is now

    The New York Mod: (Mikey and Company): Not sure why they wanted to create a NY Mod, why not though? They did a pretty good job. People aren't as pleased with it (at the moment), but that doesn't make it bad. People have different taste, I've played it and it's pretty good. Once again though, they put years into that mod's creation.

    The NY Mod: You!: From that start this was a "Hold Over" mod, you said it yourself. The only problem with that was it's popularity. I'm sure at the time no one could have accurately gauged how popular this mod would become, and how fast it would become as popular as it did. You went from making simple reskins to realistic units. Then you even went the extra step and started working on the map too. However, and this is the good part. Look at how much time you've put into this, and your team. You've spent less then a year working on this mod, and most of it was done solely but yourself. Yeah .. You had help but we'd still be at the loading screen if we were waiting on your help to come through.

    Big picture, for now it appears every NY Mod has accomplished what they set out to do, and more. Since the TRUE NY Mod is on hold for now your mod has that extra fire in it because of the blood, sweat, and tears you've put into it. I'd say now is the time to tone out the other mods and do what you think is right for this mod. Instead of making large improvements work on one small piece at a time. Who cares if it's New York Submod V24.1.0 as long as it's working you have nothing to be ashamed of.

    You know what I love, the fact that you didnt type this all in one big block of text..
