FDNY does not use Opticoms. The system costs cities a few thousand dollars per traffic light. Also around $1,000 per vehicle. So fiscally is not worth it for most large cities.
Why does it even exist then at those grossly inflated rates?

One of you guys could make it, it used the logfile in the directory for events. It's a 3rd Party Add-On I believe, so you could make one like it for LAMOD.

My internship is going well. I have nice colleagues and there are plenty of things to learn.
Mikesphoto's is making some changes to the freeplaymap, then we will get a new test phase and then the mod might be released.
Since Hoppah obviously wants us to ask: how is your internship going?

Had it open for a couple of weeks and just closed it again after I got the following things:
- Someone asking me to build a personal NY mod
- Kids asking me to make some vehicles of the FD from the town where they live
- Dozens of mod requests/ideas which can be posted in THIS topic
- Dozens of modding questions which can be asked on the forum
- Another couple of people who want me to become their personal mod-teacher
In case I don't respond I'm not interested or it's the wrong way to ask me something.
Same thing goes for this topic.
I am doing this in my free time and don't get paid. So, I don't HAVE TO respond to everything.
In fact, it will be all over from 8 September, because my new intern ship periods will start and I am going to have weeks of more than 50 hours.
That means no more modding till January 2009 except MAYBE on the Sundays if I am not too tired and don't have a hangover of the night before. :)

Jan 09 isn't too long, rather have you have a good job then giving us new toys(even if they are great toys)
Plus it tells us the release date is before 9 September.

What it does: Lets SWAT get out on the outside of the SWAT vehicle and ride outside for fast deployment.

What it does: Like flashbang, but release large cloud of CO2(stuff inside of buildings which hurts guys without SCBA except instead makes them easy to arrest)

What it does: Basically gives you SCBA protection! (possible)In exchange for the extra helmet protection.
New Ability: Hold More
Usable by: SWAT(National Guard?)
What it does: Allows SWAT to hold 2 grenades(flash or CO2), handgun, and MP5.

Sorry for posting twice in a row, but I have to ask:
Why do we need to add units that aren't used in Los Angeles? Really? Why?
Having asked that,.... Hoppah has been gracious enough to ask for, accept, and institute many changes asked for in this thread and on these forums. In return for his hard work and effort and time, all he has asked, all any of us have asked, is that you take a few seconds before posting and THINK! Say WHY you want these units, because they're cool is not an answer. Say HOW you want them to be implemented, does it carry something special, does it do anything special, does it do something we haven't thought of? And last but not least.... DO NOT ask for stuff that isn't used in the LA area. If you aren't sure, there is an Offering My assistance thread where you can ask questions as well as the Emergency Questions thread.
If you won't take the time, don't expect us to waste ours.

Because of wyes, we can now control hose length. Cheaper fire trucks(in 1.7 budget should be an issue) have only the option of the typical rope, but on the more expensive trucks(I dunno?), after you get to the typical rope length(have a script check for distance from the script from the truck), it places a "wye" that can only hold one person and looks like normal rope and is unselectable so you can't even tell it is there! Also a daily pay for your staff? Also make an equipment restriction on all fire trucks like it is in real life, so you can't get 9 med bags from the same ambu(maybe 2), and you will have to call for additional trailers and stuff if you run out. Also maybe even EMT have bags? Also, all equipment should have to be put back in the place you get it, its annoying how only stuff from LA MOD has to be put back. You should also have the option to drop it, but then it is there and annoying. Also finally cops and SWAT should have flashlights that light it up a little(about 2/3 or 1/2 of the engineer thingy).

Hmm, this might makes us be able to create new types of hoses from different trucks, Long and Short. In long whne they get a certain distance from the truck it will automacally place a wye for one person that looks like the normal hose and unselectable.

I agree, however the FF/PM should still be kept for going in a burning building to heal.

LAFD command,
LAPD K-9 unit,
and LASD bus.

The idea isn't that bad, but the EMS system has been changed for v1.7 and it doesn't really fit in.
When v1.7 has been released think about your idea again. There is already something similar in v1.7 now.
BTW, changing your fractions (lik 4/5) to percentages is easier to read and understand. 4/5 is the same as 80%.
1.7 would supply the base.

People can gain a maximum of 2/5 health bar, when not in ambulance(in ambu it expands to 3/5).
Cops can use first aid in top 2/5 to decrease damage rate.
FF/EMT can heal within 1/5 of top, and stabilize in top 1/2
FF/EMT w/ SCBA can heal within 1/8 of top, and stabilize in top 1/4.
FF/EMT w/ stretcher can heal within top 1/5, and stabilize in top 1/2
FF/PM can heal within top 4/5, and stabilize all health levels.
FF/PM w/ SCBA can heal within top 2/3, and stabilize 5/6.
FF/PM /w stretcher can heal within top 4/5, and stabilize all health levels.
EMS Captain can heal within top 4/5, and stabilize all health levels.
Fire Chief can heal within top 2/5, and stabilize in top 2/3
ALS ambulance can heal all levels, and stabilize all levels.
BLS ambulance can heal top 4/5, and stabilize all health levels.

Idea #2 (equipment)
I dont know or its possible
but 'çrime scene barrier tape' wouldt be very cool.
Idea #3 (unit)
CSI LA car +personnel
(something like that)
Personnel:
Crime scene investigator
CSI supervisor.

Why would we need homicide? It is in EM4 Deluxe Freeplay.
Asked many times, no it is not possible.
CSI = Fictional, I think.
This is a good idea in some regards, and all i'll say for now is that there might be something special along these lines already done for 1.7.BITCH DON'T KILL US LIKE THIS!!!

It just doesn't seem to need to be that expensive. I mean I could see the truck unit costing a pretty penny, but I would think per light would be much cheaper.
