  1. Would it be possible to do a wheel lift truck, and simply assign a tow command like the tow trailer where only the tow truck however could pull it?
  2. That has the potential to make some really great scenarios, gas leak underground, explosion underground, underground crew hits electric lines, and other stuff.
  3. That is really cool. The subway is something I would have never thought about.
  4. Yeah I always thought that putting the tool on the ground and having it fade away was kind of stupid. I wish that my real tools would magically find their way back when i put them down, lol. I like the idea of open roofs on the units, are you planning to be able to assign tasks while en-route?
  5. I really like the idea of someone (us or them), finally creating a quint, but the only way that it would work, in my opinion, is if they limit the water supply. Other wise it would just really be a ladder truck.
  6. I like it, but how about engine 7 on one side, at an angle, tower 1 on the other, at an angle, and battalion 1 right in the middle.
  7. Not to be rude, but as you said you can buy a mac and put windows on it, and it doesn't defeat the purpose. I have a mac and I love it, but I needed something to run Auto-CAD on so i very easily installed windows on it. When i start it up i can choose which OS I run very easily. Apple even has a program that will help you to install windows. My only suggestion if you do this is to get a Mac with a fairly large hard drive, and partition it according to which OS you will run more, i.e. more gb in one format than the other.
  8. I think the that picture about says it. Maybe you could find a way to give the materials the different codes for the classifications of hazardous materials. For a situation, what about something like a gas leak from a rail car/chemical plant or storage site, or an accident involving a truck that was transporting radioactive material. Tool wise possibly a geiger counter for radio active material. If you are classifying explosives as hazardous, which they technically are, what about an explosion container, where you put a bomb/suspicious package in and blow it up.
  9. I dont think the class system would work the way you want it to. That class system would mean that drywall, fire board, and wood would all have the same combustibility. If you're going for a more realistic gameplay, in my opinion, you should assign them materials that way it takes longer for a fire to burn through certain things, i.e. the fire proof walls that should be between town homes and such.
  10. Yeah my thinking at the time was for a separate hose pack that looked like an actual high rise pack. While that would be cool, I am realistic that you guys don't have time to make every tool possible, so honestly the regular hose they use would work just as well.
  11. Yeah I think that if you are guys can get engine to building hook ups, there needs to be a hydrant hook up. Im not sure how you guys are designing the system which is why I hadn't suggested it, considering it would probably involve the scripts within the engines (no idea about how that works), and I didn't know if you were including engines with the creator. What would be really cool is if you could create a a dry hydrant to be put in the game, so if people wanted to mod some tankers they could haul water to fires, again not sure how possible this is.
  12. To be really honest I think the command desk is a great idea and feature, it puts a different level of control over situations. The other situations I'm not entirely sure about, I think there is some real potential there, but you are kind of limited by the game. As for the collapse rescue stuff, equipment would be neat but a lot of it is just locating people and extracting them. Other than like air bags and jacks there isn't a whole lot that i can think of that would be useful in this game, unless you wanted to do a GUI where you had to find someone and extricate them. Then I think poles to poke through the rubble would be usefull.
  13. On the note of collapses from one of your other posts, what about air bag and/or jacks to lift heavier objects in order to get people out without using a crane. The GUI looks interesting, if you can manage to pull it off.
  14. Well the high rise pack is really just a hose that is carried up multiple stories. Basically you take it to whatever floor you want and connect it to the stand pipe, which gives you the water that is pumped up. It would be neat if there was some way to connect the engine to the building, which would supply your water. Also I think a K-12 saw would be cool since it can be used in venting, and fans for venting.
  15. I'd have to guess either the venting of the fire through the roof, the ladders, or the firefighter hanging on the edge of the roof. All of which look great, and interesting, and make the game that much more realistic. Have you guys considered making something for high rise packs for taller buildings? Keep up the great work.
