  1. Does anyone know what I need to change in the script to start with the best vehicles? Saving the game after you've gotten them is a very hit or miss affair, 9 times out of 10 I can't get the bloody thing to load -_-

I don’t know how to change the script but you can change the start up vehicles by replacing the model with the model of the upgraded vehicle you want. Go into the mods folder , copy and paste all the files of the model and prototype of the upgraded vehical you want into a folder on your desktop. Now all you have to do is rename all the files to the same name of the files for the start up vehicle. Eg. Re name all the files with 'RTW4_xxxx' into 'RTW_xxxx' to change the RTW ambulance from the basic model to the upgraded one etc. Now copy and past the renamed files back into the original location and override the old ones

  2. Yeah, I had tried that. Was having a bunch of trouble with the configurator. None of the flag buttons wanted to work. Its mostly in english now. Not sure if something is still wrong or not.

Make sure you have the latest configurator, the download and install link is in the winterburg mod folder. Try re installing it.

  3. I would actually like to try the Winterberg mod also, but I am competely lost at this point. I too thought there was a way to convert it to english if I read correctly. How can it be done. or where do you get the files?

    Thanks in advance

You need to read through the posts or do a simple search because it's been asked and explained here hundreds of times :) All you have to do is install the game, let it update itself, install the Winterberg Configurator, run the Configurator, click on the English flag in the conffigurator, hit save and hay presto the mod is now in English! :)

  4. Calm down lol I think it’s an option you can select in the options menu from memory it's called 'tool tips'

No shit you didn't think I knew what it meant?

What did you think I thought hover meant? That the units were going to magically fly around the map? I know exactly what it means, I'm not stupid. It doesn't work, not sure why, but by now I've figured out what each unit does so it doesn't matter.

Paths are the more pressing issue, or lack there off. Pedestrians, and Units continually get stuck and I'm hoping this problem gets fixed.

  5. Can someone please tell me how water supply works in this mod? I don't seem to be able to put any fires out no matter how many hoses I direct on to it, I'm assuming this is because I havet set up a water supply?

    Thanks.

Can someone please help me with this questian

  6. Ah yes, that's the new feature: vehicles now leaves tracks in the snow. And that makes the game lag. You can turn it off with the Winterberg Configurator. If you don't have it installed, you can find the installer for it in the Winterberg Mod file, in the 911:FR/EM4 file. It has to be 7.61 version of the Wib Configurator.

To turn them off, start up the Wib Confi, and select on of the tabs on top. I think it might be the "Map" tab, but I'm not sure. Look for an option called "schneespur" or something along those lines, and then "deaktiver", or something like that, pretty self-explanatory. You can leave the Snow option on, that doesn't affect performance very much. Not more than normal weather effects. It might still lag a little in the begging, since there's a lot of people spawning in the Christmas market at the town center, but that'll get better.

Hope that fixes it for you, did it for me.

Thanks agin, I have done as you said but cant find the right place in the Wib Confi to turn it off? I have 7.61 but there is no 'map' section on the words "schneespur" or "deaktiver", here is a screen shot.

  7. Been a while since I had one of these...let's see if I can remember. The firefighter manning the hose needs a hazmat suit as well. Alternatively, just use the water cannon on top of the HLF Winterberg, or the GTLF Bad Berleburg.

To seal the leak, I think you need to pick up some gear, and I think that gear is located in the GW-Mess. You can get an explanation on how to solve different hazmat incidents by clicking on the dangerous goods plate/sign (I can't remember if you find it in the vehicle, incident commander or vehicle commander menus, it's an orange plate/sign with black letters), and then clicking on the vehicle involved.

Thanks for you help :) Unfortunately I just used the updater to update my game and for some reason the game now runs extremely slowly and lags really badly. I don't think it’s my computer as It used to run fine and I have a ATI 5750 512MB card, 4GB of RAM and a 3ghz duel core processor. But it is so bad it is now unplayable :(

  8. How do I deal with the accident involving the leaking gas? I read somewere to have a hose cool the leaking truck and get a firefighter in a hazmat suit to turn off the leak. When I try this the health goes down on my firefighter with the hose as soon as he is close enough to cool it. And the stop leak command is crossed out so I can't order a hazmat firefighter to stop it.

    Thanks.

    Mate, grow up.

I haven't seen all of london burn down because people have been running in circles not knowing how to use a hose.

Or, to quote you, not knowing how to attach a hose to an appliance.

Do you have a source where we can read for a definate fact, that this happened?

Stop being such a t**t towards people who have risked their lives, whether it be members of Asetco, or LBF employee's.

No matter who it is, they still have to run into the same situation, so stop being such a p***k and f**k off this forum.

No-one here has time for people as pathetic as you.

I'm not going to lower myself to a playground to and fro of insults. I've said what I wanted to say, follow the link if you don't want to remain ignorant.

    End of conversation.

There also happens to be some photos of the guys protesting in the black turn out gear on the Union website.

Similar thing happened here in New Zealand in the 90´s it took a 10 year battle but the boys and the union eventually won in the court room thanks to public opinion and support. It´s a sad day when the only way to protect your community is to walk of the job and even sadder when the enemy is your own management trying to save costs instead of lives.

  11. Please calm down, i do not want any such talk of emergency services in this thread, please show some respect

If by emergency services you mean the professional fire fighters of the London Fire Brigade then as a fallow professional firefighter I show the utmost respect and support them in their current industrial battle against a management bent on cutting costs to the detriment of public safety.

One of those ´managers´ used to work here when they tried the same thing in the 90's but was ultimately defeated in court and public opinion.

Instead of criticizing me maybe you should follow the link on my banner and read up on what's going on, then as someone from the UK yourself and obviously a fan of the LFB you could lend your support to the very people you want to play in your mod.

Calling the Asetco staff ´emergency services´ is frankly an insult to those that are. They are nothing more than a ill trained pawn used by management in an attempt to break the LFB union and force contract negotiations to go their way. The same thing happened here in the 90´s only they had a different name. During the strike on two separate occasions London Firemen had to leave the picket line in order to take over from Asetco crews when they were unable to connect a hose to a Fire Appliance and break in to a burning building with persons reported inside!

Your only young so I doubt you have any real knowledge about the situation or what life must be like for a London firemen with kids and a mortgage whose told he has no job unless he gives in and signs a new contract with far worse conditions and hours. But for someone doing a mod of the LFB maybe you should educate your self a little and show some support for the men and women who make the LFB a fire service worth making a mod about.

  12. Firstly I would like to say that the Mod looks amazing and looks like it has came on leaps and bounds from the first version! Well done, great job lads! With each screen shot shown it makes me itch more and more for it!

I would like to make one point though (if I may) and forgive me if someone has already pointed it out.

The screenshot of the firefighters looks brilliant but the only problem is that they are wearing the old style fire gear. LFB changed to a new set a few months ago and the Asetco workers are now using the old fire gear.

If you are interested, here are a few links to a photos of the new fire gear:

    Side

    Rear

    Front

Use the real LFB gear! On behalf of all LFB and professional firefighters everywhere no one wants those half-wit incompetent Asetco scabs in this game. If you did you would have to change the scripting so they all ran around in confused circles trying to figure out how to get water out of the hoses while buildings burned and Londoners died!

  13. @ dtmdragon

I forgot to mention one thing. If it's the patient transport missions you need the ITH for, there is an easier way. I normally just use a NAW(Rescue Ambulance with Emergency Doctor). There are two of them in the game: The first Marsberg and the first Brilon ambulances.

I don't know how familiar you are with the keys you can use ingame, but if you hold down the left shift with sending an ambulance, you automaticly send a doctor as well. With the two NAWs, the doctor doesn't arrive in a seperate car, he comes with the ambulance. I just use these two to transport patients to hospitals with special care units.

    Thanks :)

  14. Hi guys I need a bit of help with a few things in the winterberg mod freeplay.

1, Step by step what needs to be done to successfully set up the landing site for the intensive care helicopter and dispatch it to land there?

2, Step by step how do you remove a deceased person from the map? I noticed what I thought was a coroners van parked on the map but am unable to figure out how to use it.

3, I noticed when I opened the winterberg mod with the editor there are files for an Army UH-1 Huey SAR helicopter but haven't found any way to dispatch it in free play?

    Thanks.

  15. Hi, hope everyone is enjoying these reskins. I need a bit of help with some scripting that I can't get to work as currently when a unit is dispatched by the Battalion chief from the station the following happens in this order:

station alarm sounds - vehicles emergency lights turn on – crew spawn from station doors and head to the vehicle – once the crew are in the vehicle the station door opens and the vehicle responds - station door closes.

I don’t know exactly how the turn out goes in LA but I'm a Kiwi firemen and think it would be more realistic if things happened in the following order:

station alarm sounds and station door opens – crew spawn from station doors and head to the vehicle – vehicles emergency lights turn on once the crew are inside the vehicle and then it responds - station door closes

So if anyone can help let me know as I have tried and failed to get it to work. (I have posted in the alterations section but no one has responded.)

    Cheers.
