I don't see a difference either, but that might be caused by the jpg compression. Unfortunately, there is some distortion in your picture. If you used Fraps to take the screens, make sure to choose .png or .bmp for the screenshots. They have less distortion and that is better for a comparision like this. :)

Edit: I'm having trouble uploading PNG or BMP files.

You can edit the em4.cfg (or em4deluxe.cfg) config file to change the resolution to anything you want.

Any idea as to which line? I can't find it...i dont think its in there...i need to look around a bit more

I tried disable the SetPhysx and it worked! But I didn't get much result from the other stuff. I have a question. My game runs perfect when playing normally. But when I record the game the frame rate drops by 10-20 FPS. Any ways to prevent that from happening? I messed around a little in the Nvidia control panel, but I'm not sure what I'm doing :P

This is likley your CPUs fault. Its not powerful enough.

This is indeed one time where png works better, otherwise its just annoying.

Oh and Notepad 2 might be a usefull thing to mention. This is notepad for coders and when you open the cfg file it wont be all jumbled up.

Looks fine in regular Notepad.

Most people already knew about changing the resolution in the .cfg file anyway, I was just telling him what to edit, like he asked.

If he is playing EM4 then I doubt FRAPS will take a serious hit on his performance.

I'm not so sure about that. I have an i7 @ 2.8ghz, 9gb of RAM, and a GTS 250.

It maxes out most games on a 1920 by 1200 screen but I get a large FPS drop of about 15-20 when nothing is selected in EM4 that cause some lag.

P.S. I'm not trying to show off my computer. Just trying to show the FPS drop.

The XFire application doesn't support EM4, at least what I experience. If someone have managed to get it working with EM4 then tell me how. I will try using Hypercam and see if I get another result.

I have it working without a problem

You just need to have it on while playing the game. Also remember the key combination you selected to start recording and stop.

This weasnt directed at you, but in the original screen shot it does not look fine in notepad.

As for most people knowing, you know better. People cant even read 2 posts up before they reply, and you think they know how to edit the cfg file? Come on now..

I have a Dell2208WFP 22 Inch Widescreen, I had to manually edit the cfg to make the game fullscreen, and everything looks fine here.

My .cfg file in Notepad looks exactly like how I posted it before, straight from it. Dunno why his wasn't working then. Not Notepad's fault.

And by most people I meant those that have already been here awhile.

BTW maybe people will be "smarter" if you're nicer. Oh snap.

I have actually been here for a good year or two and just made the account a few days ago. I never knew of the resolution tweak.

Lol was saying that a lot of older members know about it.

Hmm my EM4 still cuts off a bit despite the fact I've manually changed it. Now excuse me; Imma go make a space map for L4D.

What do you mean? Even though I manually changed the resolution to 1920 x 1080 it still tapers off a bit at the right edge, meaning there is some black on the left and things like the health bar are cut off.

Got L4D2?I have L4D for PC and 360 and L4D2 for 360.
