Sorry to post if it's been posted already. I have a few questions if you guys don't mind. I've searched through the forums and didn't find what I was looking for. 

So i would like to know how to import .dds files, I would assume this is how you change around the textures and such in the game with vehicles,

Here is my overall goal:

I would like to build onto the current LA mod map. Adding more streets, maybe a firehose or two. Or just removing some buildings adding another station or two. I would be adding accidents and a few more random events. I know very little about modding. I know the basics of changing the free play xml fire to increase and decrease the money, weather, event intervals, etc. 

How do i go about doing this the simplest way? 

I have the adobe CC and blender.

So i feel like a dummy for posting such topic. Cause i know it's here somewhere. But I am thinking when the site got transfered to the other server it might have got lost.

So i am looking for the signal light tutorial. I've had it once before. But i can't seem to find it at this point. I've been lookig for the past 2 hours and can't seem to find it.

Also wanted to see if there might be a tutorial on maps, Cause all i am finding is map textures, not how to make an actual map.

My goal is to create a custom map or edit the la mod, and either extend or move some things around on the map, but no where here says how to do that. Or i am blind and unable to see it.

Nobody in the 'majority' community has the skill or ability to make map textures. The ones that do are busy with their real life jobs and families and arent be able to do anything for anyone. You will have to do this yourself if thats the case. Most people that PM you often ask 'payment' in return for their assistance, such as a mod or a custom game asset. Beware of this.

Few years ago, i downloaded the editor program from the sites

I can't seem to find it anymore.

I'm working on creating a map myself. But i don't have the key component which is the editor. cause i can't find it within my files.

What if the two players are already on the same network but not showing under the multiplayer screen.

I would assume Hamachi isn't required correct?

I know this topic was 5 months ago. Everyone is pretty active on the forums. So I've been playing for a few years now. I have recently got windows 8 and i have wanted to make some changes to a map and i can't seem to find my map editor on windows 8 os. I've gone to the install folder and still haven't been able to find it. So I am trying to locate it in a file folder some where so that i am able to edit the map according. and possibly start making my own map.

Any suggestions on where to look or where to start research to locate this editor or is there one in the downloads section i can use??

Problem Solved, see below how I got it to work. I did this both for HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and HKEY_CURRENT_USER

1. Re-install 911 First Responders to C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4 instead of the default directory.

2. Start regedit by selecting Start - Run, typing in 'regedit' and then

hitting 'OK'.

3. Select 'HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE' and press the '+' button to its left to

expand the list.

4. Next, select 'SOFTWARE' and press the '+' button to its left to expand

the list.

5. Right-click on 'SOFTWARE' and select New > Key.

Enter the new key name: sixteen tons entertainment

6. Right-click on 'sixteen tons entertainment' and select New > Key.

Enter the new key name: Emergency 4

7. Right-click on 'Emergency 4' and select New > String value.

Enter the new key name: Installdir

8. Right-click on 'Installdir' and select Modify.

In the 'Value Data' field, C:\Program Files (x86)\sixteen tons entertainment\Emergency 4

Now, exit the registry editor by selecting the File menu and then clicking

on Exit.

Morning Tanker,

I just wanted to confirm what operating system you had? I have windows 8.1 installed on my laptop.

I've been playing the game fine, up until i wanted to instal the mahattan mod and the nyc mod. Noticed that my mod installr wasn't working.

I wanted to confirm that these instructions would work for me vs messing something up. I just got the computer don't want anything corrupted.

Tried running as Admin, it worked!

 

 

The log file popped back when I played the game, so if there is a bigger problem I now have it...

I don't know anything about the logfile.txt and the DxDiag.txt.

But I am very familiar with the black screen crash.

Could you walk us (me) through what you have done since you install the game? Also what windows verison are you running?

Yeah, i've updated everything, I actually just reformatted my hdd, and installed and played, Only issue i was having then, is that it would crash when i were to quit. Now that the windows updates are installed it is doing the same thing again a splash screen.

I'll double check the video drivers again, but everything is reupdated.

Edit 1: All updates for pc and drivers have been made. I've installed all windows updates that are avaible to me. Still same thing.

HI All,

Relitively the same issue everyone else is having. I purchased the game via amazon in december Downloaded installed play for a few weeks. Than i reformatted Hdd, redownloaded again n played again no issues. Recently downloaded again to put it back on my hdd, now i get a black splash screen and i have had no problems before at all. I'm upset because i have tried everything.

Redownloaded, deleted from registry, uninstalled and tried all over again multiple times over the past 3 days.

Any ideas on how to fix this i doubt atari is going to be able to help figured i come to experts in this game.

Hello.

I am trying to get la mod to work, ive installed it. it says its corrupted. I would like some help getting this corrected. i thought i had it covered but it is not working still!

No logfile/DXdiag file = No help.

heres the logfile, and the dxdiag, If someone has an idea how to fix, would you mind remotely fixing it please. I've already played this once. its just not working now.

I own the game, i've installed it. it meets requirements but it will not open up. Any one got any ideas on how to get it working? and the patch 1.3 isn't installing either
