  1. Hello, I was wondering if anyone has a way to make editing maps and stuff in there editor less laggy? When I load a map up there's just so many elements that it bogs down considerably and becomes almost unusable. Is there a way to disable a lot of the things and only edit certain parts at a time (just VOs for example, instead of every single element). I'm currently just trying to swap some buildings out and then move some VOs. Thanks
  2. Now I'm getting a "parenthesis does not match" error on line 256......... I thought I had this fixed! Sorry to bug you but here's the file again after the edits. Theres only a "}" on that line I don't understand what the issue is, I've even looked at other scripts as reference and it looks the same. EDIT: Fixed it! LASiren.script LASiren.script

  4. Hello again, I'm trying to figure out errors I'm getting with the siren script. As you'll see in the script file attached, I've added 2 prototypes to the script: NHSPCHARGER and NHSPTAHOE. The first, NHSPCHARGER worked perfectly, no problems in game what so ever. The NHSPTAHOE gives me an error every time. I've double checked all the directories, they're all correct, names are correct, are there too many vehicles per siren? The error tells me to look at line 162, I don't see what the issue is. I've included the script and the pictures of the errors, in order if you press retry. Thanks LASiren.script
  5. That's a given haha, the last clip I saw they were standing next to a venting propane rail car arguing about their dating lives!
  6. Those shows are super inaccurate as far as Chicago vehicles go..... I'd stick to youtube for actual reference videos.
  7. Hello again! I'm having an issue where I can't add extrication equipment to my engines in my mod. As it stands right now the only vehicle with extrication equipment on the map is the heavy rescue, but I would like to have the capability on all the engines as well since that is how things are done in my part of the country. I have tried adding the Jaws in the editor, but it never works in game, the personnel always start walking to the main station to get them off the rescue. Is there a way to make them get them off the engine that is at the scene? Is the rescue set as a higher priority of where to get the tools from somewhere? Is there a way to make sure the change in equipment I made in the editor is saved and applied to that vehicle? Thanks for your help!
  8. Alright, so as far as the things I would need to move from one folder to another and replace, what are they? Thank you for the in-depth and useful responses by the way! I really appreciate everything you've done for the EM4 community.
  9. So I could basically move everything but the VO's, and just have to reposition those?
  10. Hello everybody! I'm hoping to get an answer as to if its possible to switch maps in a mod other than LA. I have put a considerable amount of time into making a personal mod using Mayberry 1.5.1 but I really want to use the 1.2 map. The issue with falling back to 1.2 is that many of the scripts I like in 1.5.1 would be gone and need to be added again, as well as a good amount of work getting all the vehicles switched. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I tried searching but every topic I found was about LA mod. Thanks!
  11. I department around my area just put a BC rig like this in service and they love it, they carry tons of rehab supplies and SCBA bottles, stuff that's in high demand on scenes where the BC will be there for a long time like structure fires. Looks awesome.
  12. Just had a crash to desktop when a call came in, no idea what happened but I didn't get an error message. Here's the logfile. logfile.txt
  13. Hello everyone, recently I have been messing around in a mod I'm working on trying to get specific sets of vehicles into specific categories in the siren script so that they have unique sirens. Specifically all the law enforcement units in one bracket with their two siren choices and all the ambulances in one with their two sirens (trying to have the ambulances have a EQ2B siren and not PD). The sound files are there, the script works for most vehicles but on some when the siren is activated I get and error saying something along the lines of "section too long" (can't remember exact wording). Today I tried starting again from scratch and now I'm getting a different error, specifically citing line 232 of the LASiren script as the problem. I have tried to find the issue but I'm fairly new to scripting and can't seem to figure out the issue. Here is both the logfile and the script, thanks for your help. logfile.txt LASiren.script
  14. Awesome! Equipment has been left untouched for the most part, good to see someone putting some work into it!
  15. I'm sorry to report that the issue has not been fixed. About one in every 15 attempts to run the game is successful, all others crash.
  16. Had the EXACT same problem and after a discussion in another thread came to no solution. EDIT: Possible solution for those with AMD graphics cards I have done more looking around online and after spending hours searching through threads on the AMD site I decided to try uninstalling AMD Gaming Evolved, also known as Raptr. It seems to have solved the crashing issue. Hopefully this is helpful to those who recently had their drivers updated and haven't been able to play since!
  17. Files are not blocked. Heres the log and DxDiag. DxDiag.txt logfile.txt
  18. Did that, then did some looking around in my video files for the game and noticed a lot of the supervisor videos were blocked in the properties. I fixed all of them and had a flawless freeplay session. Now I just went to go back and play some more and got a crash again. This is incredibly annoying.
  19. I'm having a issue very similar to that which others have been mentioning except for one difference as far as I can tell. I will start the game (runs flawlessly), load a mod (works flawlessly), load up freeplay (works flawlessly), then once I'm in game I can play. There is no lag, all units and everything loads correctly but then after anywhere from 30 seconds to 5 minutes in there is a sudden CTD. No error messages or anything appear. I've looked through my log files over and over and can't find anything. I have called AMD as this seems to have began after a recent driver update and their solution of wiping all graphics drivers and reinstalling hasn't worked. I have tried the codec tweak fixes which I thought solved the problem for one game and then on the next start up I was right back where I started. If anyone has any answers I would greatly appreciate it. EDIT: Just attempted the MPC method as described above, no change. DxDiag.txt logfile.txt
  20. Its gotten worse, now my game crashes about 30 seconds to a minute in, regardless of mod or anything. I've reinstalled now too which is the weirdest part, no idea whats causing it, maybe a windows update messed something up. Pretty frustrating though, especially because my editor works fine so I can't play with any of the work I've done! EDIT: FIXED The codec tweak method mentioned in other posts has solved my problem, at least for the time being. It seems that I had some left over/broken things after a recent graphics driver update.
