  1. Our main stations here have an Engine, Tanker, Brush and IC, and the CSEPP trailer.

My VFD has an Engine, Tanker, Brush and Hazmat.

I have pics if you want them

Also here we don't use house sirens. Every volie carries an 800 mHz radio and we get dispatched over the county's dispatch channel.

  2. Hey, I love both of your ideas! I would have one suggestion though, for the MMORPG, give players a way to expand themselves. i.e. you start out as a Volunteer firefighter with 0 experiance, as they do jos around the fire house and answer emergencies, they build 2 types of points, promotion points and training points. Then may be have a menu you can pull up with specialties of their career. (If you're an VFF, you can choose from EMS, Hazmat, rescue subspecalities and of course FF. If you're PD, Swat, Bomb Squad, Piloting, Tactical EMS) Then you'd have to build you're career using the training points to get new gear availible to you. You wouldn't have access to all of the trainings all at once, you'd have to unlock them. Like you could get to Paramedic without taking the EMT option and doing 10 medical emergencies. Then once you get enough promotion points, you get offered a promotion, you could accept it or not. In order to get certain promotions though, you'd have to take certain trainings. i.e. You can't be an EMS Lt. without being a paramedic, or you can'r be the rescue lt. with out having all the rescue training. But if you accept it, you wouldn't be able to access any of the lower levels of training. (So if an FF becomes a Lt. they wouldn't be able to go back to get Hazmat awareness) But you'd have new training levels, like ICS, Wildland Fire command, Structural fire command...

Maybe the trainings could trigger a "run" were you would training with the new equipment in game.

  3. Nyc does have helipads on the hudson.... whether or not they are used for police helicopters I honestly do not know... if I put them on the map that's where they'd goto, onto the waterfront helipads not on top of the station, the medical helicopter probrably won't end up being able to land at the hospital given it is more of an addition for the missions, in freeplay imo you really don't need a medivac for anything, the ambos can get there just as efficiently... When it comes to chasing cars though the PD helo is your best shot in this mod... so having the PD helo on the map makes some sense, or at least having a place for you to park one when you do buy it.

NYPD has ESU's headquarters on Floyd Bennett Field, in Brooklyn. This is where NYPD houses the Aviation Unit, The Dive team training center, and the training academy for the ESU.

  4. How many volunteers as a percentage of the total number of firefighters in NY?

FDNY is a fully paid department. No volley FFs

Actually if you mean in FDNY then NFK is correct, however there is approx. 10 all vol. departments within the city limits. They respond with FDNY in many cases.

How many engines respond when reporting a fire? 2? 3? Or in each individual case dispatcher decides individually?

Depending on the type of fire depends on what goes, also you need to remember what is nearby... If it's a car fire and the rescue station is down the street, then the loadout will be different than if it was in times square

How much time is given for leaving firefighters from the firehouse after the alarm?

About a minute to a minute 20, the standard time for firefighters across the US

  5. What in the game is the use for the squad? I know that in real life the squad is pretty much an Engine in its district, and a truck outside its district, but I also know that it is suposed to carry all the rescue tools, and hazmat gear, but obviously the all in one function doesn't fit with making the game more difficult.

  6. Just an other suggestion,

For realism's sake you might want to change the trucks from Ladder 16, Engine 10 and Batt. 45 to Ladder 1 Engine 7 and Batt. 1 which are all stationed together in real life.

Ladder 16 is on the Upper east side, E 10 is across the street from Ground Zero, and Batt 45 is in Queens.

  7. I would suggest adding two new stations and shrinking the current station down for realizim's sake. Seeing as Rescue 1 is in it's own house as is Squad 61. I would put Resuce 1 near the top of the map on the Left side and Squad 61 on the Top right side. Just a suggest since you said you didn't see a reason for a new FD station.

  8. Just a quick sugestion on the Ambo. The front end is to short, or it just seems to be. It looks to me like a type 3, van front, of which FDNY EMS has zero, not the Type 1, pickup truck front.

Other wise the game looks and plays great.

  9. Actually the new AHA guidelines say your ABC's are now CAB's. You are to check for a pluse and go straight to compressions before breaths now.

Any ways we need more firefighters so that we can open the new station, so anyone that see this and has not joined, please join up. We need 3-4 more firefighters and a Firefighter paramedic on the engine/pumper and then we're full at station 1.

If you're interested in joining click here.

  10. Will squad 10 be a non-paramedic squad like in the pilot, or will it be medic?

Oh just one more sugesstion, Engine 10 and 210 should be the open cab crown firecoaches that you see in the pilot. I just did some research and found it was batt 14 not 10 that was in station 10.

  11. ESU has many Detectives that are Trained EMT/Medics, however NO NYPD officers except ESU are authorized to treat above CFR as they operate under FDNY's EMS license, the ESU medics/EMTs are under FDNY EMS' medical director and REMSAC License. This comes from back when my uncle retired in 2003 for E7, but I believe it is the same.

  12. Just one think that I remember from the pilot episode:

    Station 10 was

    Engine 10

    Engine 210

    Truck 10

    Squad 10

    Battalion 10

(I think that there was one more but I can't remember it.)

Also if you look at the Emergency mod for EM3 you might be able to adapt their biophone script for your purpose. Like instead of only being able to use it to call an off map ambo, you could say that you have to use it before you could treat a patient.
