  1. When I play the more difficult Campaign missions (like the earthquake mission), I try to proceed cautiously, rather than rushing in carelessly, especially since my personnel won't even get away from danger on their own. Since I have to control literally every action my units make, and I struggle with controlling more than one group at a time, I can hardly handle "several-front wars," or simultaneously dealing with several major incidents at different parts of the map. Unfortunately, missions end when there are "too many injured" or fires have "spread out-of-control," so I often can't play missions in the way that works for me.

Basically, I want to be able to play missions through to the end, instead of the mission ending because of too many casualties or uncontrolled fires. If I get a bad score, so be it, but I want to play from start to finish. I looked for previous posts about this, but I couldn't find any helpful information.

    Thanks.

  2. Since there haven't been any posts for awhile, I thought I would ask: Is this mod still being actively developed? I'm not expecting any estimated time until release. I just want to know if there is still progress being made, or if I should continue to wait at all.

  3. Hey Terickson, thankyou for you wonderful help... i believe a couple of a few big precincts will be involved as well(i.e. the capitol police along with the pentagon police, but only a few skins of each) also, i think there will be a mission at the pentagon, but it will probably be a mission outside the pentagon, as not many people know how it looks like on the inside... unlike the mannhattan team(no offense) i will try to keep it away from 9/11 events, since that seems to bring up many views on it being unpatriotic, instead i think its gonna more be something like a helicopter crashing onto the helipad(emergency landing) and you have to stop fires and help victims, or it might be something like a huge fire explosion outside the pentagon and you have to keep it from spreading.... any other ideas? I was once right outside the pentagon before and its amazing how huge this building IS

You could have a mission where you need to keep under control a large protest.

  4. Here are some more photos I've taken previously that I found, with some extra angles on the DHS vehicle, and some of an Amtrak Police car.

The video below also shows these vehicles briefly (they can be seen between 2:10 and 2:23).

By the way, even if you don't include the Pentagon into your mod, I would like to see Pentagon Police vehicles. Unfortunately, I only have one somewhat blurry image.

  5. Here is the link to an album with all the photos I took of Washington, D.C.'s emergency services that I could find:

Also, you can find some more pictures I took of a DHS (Department of Homeland Security) Police vehicle, which show more of it than the ones from D.C: http://imageshack.us/g/1/9944428/

This video I took then briefly shows the lights of that vehicle (from the front only, unfortunately):

I hope this helps with your mod.

  6. I've been looking for a mod that has a Freeplay map with the landmarks and realistic look of a major city (such as Washington, D.C.), as well as the emergency vehicles that go along with it. I've seen the idea of a Washington, D.C. mod in the Forums a few times, and also Manhattan Mod. Unfortunately, I can't get Freeplay to open in Manhattan Mod (it always crashes while loading), and I haven't found anything else that might fit what I'm thinking of.

Los Angeles Mod works for me, but it doesn't have the kind of map that I'm looking for. Washington, D.C. would be a good example, where the White House, Washington Monument, and other things that are distinctly unique to the city are visible and accessible in Freeplay. It would also be my first choice.

I would appreciate any responses that point to a mod that is either completed or seriously being worked on.

  7. They do also operate the VH-60N, which is a variant of the Blackhawk/Seahawk.

    http://en.wikipedia....ter_tornado.jpg

I know. The name for the VH-60N variant is the Whitehawk, btw.

Not to be a killjoy, but did you know that the helicopter most often referred to as Marine One is not a UH-60 Blackhawk? It's a VH-3D Sea King, a larger helicopter and a much older one. http://en.wikipedia....i/SH-3_Sea_King

This is the link to image I used for this:

    http://upload.wikime..._Marine_One.jpg

The Marine One in this image (http://upload.wikime..._Whitehouse.jpg) obviously has a very different shape, and requires a model that doesn't exist in L.A. Mod. I have no modeling skills, and creating a model myself is far outside my knowledge.

  8. NOTE: All credit for the Blackhawk model goes to its creator. This is only for personal use.

I just finished a modified version of the Blackhawk helicopter from Hoppah's Los Angeles Mod. I would like to hear opinions about it, but please be constructive. This helicopter is meant to look like, for those who might not know, one of the United States Marine Corps helicopters, which is called "Marine One" when the President of the United States is on board.

I can't think of any realistic purpose for this in the game, but here it is regardless:

    marineone2.jpg

    marineone1.jpg

I haven't been able to add this into Freeplay so far, as I don't know how to add this to the game without getting rid of the original Blackhawk, which I want to use at the same time. Any tips that allow me to get this into Freeplay successfully will be greatly appreciated.

  9. Do you rename the. v3o to dds?

Where do you save the file?

Is it a different name from the original?

These are the steps that I followed:

    1. Copied existing .dds file (In this case blackhawk.dds) and renamed it

    2. Renamed file from ________.dds to __________.V3O

    3. Opened file in the Editor and unpacked it

    4. Renamed file from _______.V3O to ________.dds

    5. Opened file in Paint.net and made changes

    6. Renamed file from ________.dds to ___________.V3O

    7. Opened file in the Editor and repacked it

    8. Renamed file from ________.V3O to __________.dds

    9. Moved file into C:\Program Files (x86)\WizardWorks\911 - First Responders\Mods\Los Angeles Mod v2.1\Models\Vehicles\05 US Army

I copied and renamed blackhawk.dds because I want both the original Blackhawk helicopter and my new version of it in Freeplay together. I hope this answers your questions.

  10. I've been looking through the Forums on this site for awhile, and finally decided to create an account, as I have a problem that I've been struggling with. I have been "cloning" and modifying a few personnel and vehicles from the Los Angeles Mod (for personal use only), and I wish to add them into the game, mostly for Freeplay.

There are a few problems I've been unable to solve:

    1. I wanted to add a new skin to a vehicle, and I followed the steps in a tutorial I found (http://forum.emergen...nning-vehicles/). I cloned the vehicles I wanted, including one in particular, which I made a new skin for. After following the steps in that tutorial and creating the new vehicle skin, I opened the Editor to edit the prototype for it. I loaded the L.A. Mod, then opened the editing window for it. I wanted to change the skin of this cloned vehicle, but all I can see are the .V3O files, which I can't seem to open in any program (such as Paint.net). I want to keep the existing vehicle and have a clone of it with the new skin in the game at the same time, but I have yet to find a tutorial that tells me how to do this.

    2. I want to add new vehicles and personnel to Freeplay, and I want them to be buyable and usable just like the default L.A. Mod units are. Like the vehicle above, I cloned a few vehicles and personnel, then made minor changes for personal use in Freeplay. When I worked with them in the Editor, things seemed fine when finished, as well as when I changed the game files. When I opened Freeplay, they did not appear, and more recently even crashed the game in the same way as the Editor crashed in Problem #1 above, with an instant crash to the Desktop, and no error messages or anything else. The crash happened when I scrolled to the bottom of the Police Vehicles menu, and happened at least twice. When I reinstalled L.A. Mod, the problem went away. I don't want to change existing units, as I want my new units in Freeplay with all of the existing units.

I haven't changed anything such as models or anything that seems to be extremely complicated. I know that Hoppah, the creator of the L.A. Mod, has a tutorial on adding new vehicles, but the main site where it is seems to be down, making the tutorial apparently unavailable. Other tutorials, such as the one I gave the link to above, have been helpful until the very end, but I can't seem to make these work. I have very little experience with this, and I haven't found out how to make this work in Freeplay based on other posts. Thanks in advance.
