  1. Sorry guys but I'm starting to lose faith in this.

Eh hes just looking for some sympathy. No one cares really if you lose faith. Raf and Dyson come out with updates every single day almost. The beta has been going fantasticly and the amount of updates I have seen are amazing. The mod has come a long way and if you dont play it...well oh well..you will surely be missing out.

  2. There are 5 Rescue companies in FDNY. Rescue 1=Manhattan. Rescue 2=Brooklyn. Rescue 3=Bronx. Rescue 4=Queens. Rescue 5=Staten Island. Some of these companies had their apparatus completely destroyed on 9/11. Shortly afterwards, all five rescue companies recieved brand new E-One rescues. In 2007 Rescue 1 recieved a brand new Pierce rescue truck, which they currently run. Currently, the department has taken delivery of 5 new rescues which were built by Ferrara. I believe most are currently in service. I believe that Rescue 1 has opted to keep their Pierce, but I don't know. To sum it up. From September 10, 2001, to present; Rescue 1 in Manhattan has had 4 different trucks.

Here is a link to a great forum with a ton of information about the new rigs. http://nycfire.net/f...pic,6058.0.html

Also, page 18 has a video of Rescue 5 responding with their new rig.......

Rescue 1 in fact did not keep their Pierce. At the PA Fire Expo in May of 2011 I was able to find the new Rescue 1 Ferrara and was able to crawl around on it and take some photos of it. It was prettty sweet.

  3. Rockstar would lose money by pursuing a lawsuit because of them hiring a lawyer would cost thousands of dollars and they wouldn't get any money because the Manhattan mod team hasn't made any income off of this mod. They gave credit to rockstar in the read me and they even gave credit to Rockstar on earlier posts on the forums.

  4. The funny thing is this guy wont acknowledge my posts...he knows I am right and my posts come from my criminal law classes I took in college...The mod will come out as is....they wont change anything...If Rockstar does sue they wont be able to get any money because of the fact that they can only sue the Company aka Manhattan Mod Team...since the company has no money and is making no money so if they did happen to win they would win $0....No comercial revenue is being made from this mod so the use of the buildings and the credit the mod team is giving Rock Star is well within the copyright laws and they have the ability to use those buildings. Rockstar wont even care...lol...

  5. Seeing how Dyson or Raf didn't modify the content or sell it at all they are not violating the copyright laws and the other fact of the matter is do you REALLY think Rockstar is gonna sue two EM4 modder for using some buildings? Think again..it would cost thousands of dollars to hire a lawyer and go to court and take every dime they had...it would be one thing if Raf and Dyson were making MILLIONS of dollars off of this...but they aren't and Rockstar isn't loosing money either...soo..if you know anything about America and American law it would not hold up in court and Rockstar could give less of a damn.

I love how MakcesDK in one breath says hes not hating...then the next breath say the mod sucks. You are the definition of a hater. Lol I just laugh at people like you...soooo clueless.

I bolded out the key words in that Copyright from Rockstar games....the key words there are (incase you are too stupid to read them) non-comercial use. Commerce means you are making money off of it and since this is a FREE mod there is no comercial revenue from this game being made therfore even if you did tell Rockstar games and they did care they wouldn't be able to didly squat because we are not selling the mod. End of story.

  7. OK...you guys need to seriously calm down. Copyright laws ONLY protect the work that is being sold for money. Since this is a FREE mod and no revenue is being made off of the mod at all there for it is not in violation. Go ahead and report the mod. The only thing that will happen is Rockstar will simply laugh at your email and probably not give a damn but also on the flip side the only reason you guys know that there is stuff from Rockstar in here is because Raf and Dyson told everyone and they are getting the propper credit in the readme file. And even if Rockstar cares and they say we can't use their stuff then guess what...the mod probably wont go public and we have a good group of people playing the beta right now that honnestly it wont make a difference to me if you play or not. So...yea basicly this means we could care less what you haters think.

  8. I was joking dude, hence the "I kid, I kid!" why don't you actually read the post you try to be forum police on and calm the hell down yourself, because on pretty much every page you are trying to be forum police to someone and you're not an admin or anywhere close and from what I see nobody can stand you...

anyways like I said before, keep up the good work Manhattan Mod Team, you guys have came a long way since the Submod, it looks amazing and I really like the new map!

Pretty much what I was going to say...That guy needs to chill...He doesn't take the time to read entire posts...I posted a video and specifically stated that I knew Rescue 2 was from Brooklyn but I posted a video about it anyways and he started trying to correct something I already knew.

  9. I love how no matter how much you guys explain to the public they still don't understand....Lets put it this way...as much as you guys hate it now that they delayed the release of the Manhattan Mod you guys will be really happy they did during the release. The amount of progress they made in a week is stunning and bugs are still being worked out. You guys will be happy to get this tested product rather than something that may not have been up to par with some of the bugs.

For mod developers its kind of a lose lose situation...They either 1) release it and then the public hates it because of all the bugs it has...and 2) They delay the release of the mod to make sure everything they said would be featured works plus a few additional bells and whistles and a much finer product and the public complains that its never gonna be released.

You guys will be breathless when the mod is released on how advanced this mod is. I have been following the Manhattan Mod since it was announced back in August and I played the Sub Mod since its been out. It wasn't until a few weeks ago that I would register and start writing in here and the amount of progress that this mod has made is outstanding. Just be patient.

  10. @ L.Awest

why would you want to attach a wye directly to a hydrant?!

you need some kind of pump between hydrant and the wye which is mostly the engine's pump or a portable pump ;)

correct me if i'm wrong but there would just be a huge lack of pressure!

    (null)

In 911 FR you can attach a hose to a hydrant and fight fire but realisticly that is not how things are done in real world. The only thing that should be connecting to a hydrant is a pumper or a tower that has a pump (quint) or a pipe that goes to the ladder to flow water. You should never connect a hose to a fire hydrant to fight a fire with because most hydrants do not produce enough pressure to fight water in my area at least. We commonly find ourselves boosting hydrant pressures with another pumper. But one of the townships we protect does have hydrants that produce a lot of pressure that you probably could fight fire with.

A good idea for the game maybe at a later date that I would like to see is Engines with limited tank capacity so that after a certain amount of gallons or minutes fighting a fire you run out of water or you can connect to a hydrant and you pretty much get unlimited water flow.

A feature that could be added onto that idea could be a FDC (Fire Department Connection) that is on the buildings that have standpipes (pretty much a pipe that can commonly be found in stairwells that gives you access to water inside the building. Commonly high rise packs are attached to these to fight fire off of) and pump water into the stand pipes to boost pressures to fight fire off of and add additional water supply to the system.

And one more idea that could be even added...Different diameter hose. That idea may be difficult to actually show in the game and actually may not be possible but its at least worth the idea. You could have different types of hoses such a 2 1/2" hose and 1 3/4". Maybe have the 1 3/4" hose could be used as the standard hose and puts out fire normally in the game. Then maybe have a 2 1/2" option that requires more than 1 firefighter to operate the hose and puts out a larger amount of fire at an accelerated rate but also limited mobility of the crew using it.. Obviously if you do my idea about limited water supply then the 2 1/2" hose also would use up the water supply faster than the 1 3/4" hose.

  11. Rescue 2 is Brooklyn...

Yea your negativity doesnt potray a good image for yourself...because from what I have seen you post negativly on a lot of things...if you read my post you would have realized that I said that I knew that Rescue 2 was Brooklyn. I posted it for the reasons that 1) It's something interesting to watch. 2) It shows an insight to what Rescue personell do on the fireground. Sheesh.

  12. I am 99.9 % sure that it would have been a wet system. Even if it was dry the system would have already been set off. Because of the amount of time it would have taken them a lot of time.

Well the only reason I question it is because it is new york and it is possible for these systems to freeze due to the fact of the temperatures. It is possible that these systems worked off of different water systems through the building that had pumps that created pressures that are able to fight fire. I just know that for a pumper to pump water to the 70th floor would take a long ass time.

  13. You gotta think about it. They have standpipe system in the stairwells and I am not sure if those stand pipes are already wet or if they were a dry stand pipe system meaning that there is no water already flowing through the system and if they needed to pump water up to that point it would take a lot of time to get water flowing up to the floors in the 70 or 80 story range.

  14. Well I guess technically no charged lines were inside the towers because they never got to the fire floors. The only person that made it to the fire floor in the towers was Battalion Chief Orio Palmer who made it there only minutes before the catastrophic failure that occurred in the South Tower.

On another note...if you cant put out a fire in EM4 with 7 engines, 6 ladders, 3 battalions, a rescue, squad, and satellite then you probably shouldn't be playing EM4. That would have to be one HUGE fire.

  15. thats not the case, for example on Tuesday may 22nd a 10 alarm fire was called in Brooklyn after a series of warehouses caught fire, during major fire's its common for alarms to exceed five, i'm sure far far more alarms were called on 9/11 infact a dispatcher on duty that day describes the loss of fire fighters and equipment as "10 alarms worth"

Thats why I said 5 alarms in each tower which is actually what happened if you listen to the full audio tape of the manhatten radio channel on 9/11 you will only hear the assignment go up to 5 alarms in each tower.
