  1. Thankyou for visiting the official topic of the Manhattan Modification.

This modification will be 3 years old in August, and has seen the release of Version 1 and Version 2

Version 3.0.0 has now begun development, we would now like to show progress on the development of the mod.

All models and textures have been extensively improved since the previous version, with a completely new map, new area,

    new rigs, and much more..

All info from v2 removed see www.manhattan-mod.org for version 2 screenshots.

    The Concept:

    Map

There will between 1 and 5 maps depending on how much we manage to get done.

They will all feature the same unit choice, however each map will house different selection of units on map.

For example map #1 (which is currently under development) contains:

    Pride of Midtown

    Engine 65

    Rescue 1

Then another map will still feature these units ability to call them onto map, however the map will house different units for Example Battalion 8.

Each map will all be linked with the same set of units, the theory behind this links to MERU (online gameplay) where several games all using different v3 maps, then a global dispatcher will dispatch across all maps, then units like Rescue 1, Squad 18 etc are properly requested and must be sent off map from any other games before they can be spawned by the user that requested it.

    What's new besides the maps?

We've once again revamped the units, adding details and in some cases re-modeling the unit.

We're also adding some new units such as Hazmat 1

A new hose connection script means hoses no connect to the front rear and sides of Engines and Squads, hooking up differently depending on the rig, e.g Marauder II's are different.

We've also gone through and re-lit all the rigs, which is still a work in progress.

    What else we're looking into

We are trying our upmost to finally include limited water supply, we'll keep you updated on this.

Another idea we want to introduce is the ability to hook ladders up to any building, possibly assisting with venting, this would improve the aesthetic on scene.

More info and screens coming soon.

Will Engine 1 and Ladder 24 still be in this version?
  2. Follow this link to get info and manuals about LAFD engines and trucks going back quite a ways. If you click the "truck spec chart" and the "engine spec chart" it gives you a good comparison.

    http://lafdtraining.org/ists/log.htm

As for the hose. I don't believe LAFD has any of their hose preconnected to the engine. They may have nozzles preconnected to the 1", 1-1/2", and 1-3/4" hose in the crosslays, but I don't believe any of it is connected to the engine.

Thank you very much! This is extremely helpful!
  3. ha ha I have a feeling I am going to enjoy this

So what I can actually do is replace the tiller with ladder 10, becuase in the pilot; ladder 10 was a tiller truck. and then truck 110 is just a rear mount.

Truck 10 in the pilot was only a mid-mount aerial ladder truck, no tiller.
  4. What he said. I'd have to agree, I WOULD like to see some AMR personel to be staffed with AMR Equipment *Shrug*

Yes, when they assist us at an accident they normally wear extrication gear which is a black turnout coat with orange stripes, a blue plastic helmet and goggles. Their normal uniform is a white button down uniform shirt with black tactical pants. At the fire department I work at, Tampa Fire Rescue, we wear a T-shirt and tactical pants so we can tell each other apart very easily. As for the rigs, that's pretty self explanatory with some research but here AMR completely consists of paramedics, no EMTs.
  5. The NYC mod and my mod both have paramedics in no turnout gear, so I'm a little confused as to what you're on about.

What he is saying, I think, is he wants the AMR medics with the AMR white uniform shirts that they wear when they assist us at a call or when we assist them. AMR is only a contract service so they don't wear T-shirts marked "Fire Department". I haven't played in your mods yet so I don't know exactly what they look like but I'd advise to whomever is trying this submod to replace the "change to firefighter gear" to "change to extrication gear" and get them a blue helmet and black turnout coat.
  6. Many firefighters in the United States are Paramedics too, or at least have an EMT (Emergency Medical Technician) license, as around 75% of firefighter calls are EMS/Medical situations.

So, it makes perfect sense for Paramedic Firefighters to go in the ambulance, this is even more true when the ambulance service is part of the fire station.

Well, I am a firefighter/paramedic but he is right in a way, AMR is a contract EMS service so their medics and EMTs are not trained in firefighting and they are paid by AMR.

You don't need a team, perhaps a little research. AMR units have already been released in the past. In fact some mods have them implemented in them, you just need to search for those mods.

Are there any downloads so I can add just the AMR ambulance to the LA mod V.2.1? There are AMR ambulances in the FD Command mod.
