  1. It was resovled but due to the fact that people don't have a good enough computer we can't come to a direct solution but to blame it on peoples computer.. There was to much in the mod that it caused people to ctd because of either to many units or models on the map that caused the computer to give up and crash the application. And right now we're working on a new " patch" that should not ctd and have lesser units.

I'm not sure if I know how you got to find that out, considering there is other mods with much more units and scripts available that does not CTD as easily. Have a look at Norway Mod, that modification has more units and cars yet a very stable release. I think you should rerun your debug-logic and see if what you just said is correct as I think it's highly unlikely that is the reason.

Also, we know for a fact that certain scripts would cause the fire trucks to spin around like crazy. And that has nothing to do with the amount of models/units in the game, that is just the scripting of certain functions that has not been done properly. (That would cause a CTD aswell)

  2. Servers are providing now around 300 with downloads, those who came in too late will have to wait. The speed will increase as you move forward in queue.

(Reason the server is not responding to you is because it's activated it queue system, and there is no room for you. It's to make sure the server don't crash)

Just keep trying, join our Teamspeak if you wanna talk while waiting :)

  3. If we look pass the fact that this kind of question is forbidden on this forum :P I have to admit a error from my side.. I have not informed you all of what is going on... And ofc the release date...

    Info:

    Time is of the essence...

Like I mentioned earlier, Norway Mod is trying to stand on its own legs... The seperation from LA Mod is a heavy process.. And will take many hours to do..

It is like a 5000 piece puzzle.

When you start with a blank mod.

1: We have to copy every model that we want in to the mod, make a prototype out of it, lights, doors, wheels etc

2: Then you need to copy all the scripts, and puzzle it into... well lets just say 1/4 of the puzzle...

3: Then we need to copy and import the map, make that one done... 2/4 of the puzzle...

4: Theeen we want all the icons, unit folders, and the language files with audio ofc.. 3/4 of the puzzle...

5: And finaly, we need to get all the other stuff done, like scripts that are missing to "finish" the new stuff... And since we don't have a scripter, and not anyone has raised theyr hand to help with that. we need to figure that one out our selfe...

have in mind that I made Norway Mod v1 in 1 1/2 months :P with all the new units etc...

So to answer the question many "fans" of the NoMod is wondering about:

When will the mod be released?:

We really don't know :Pbut hopefully this year...

I can't wait, and when it comes to release dates there is no need to worry. There is already a version out for people to play and come with suggestions, we know you deliver :)

Here are some suggestions you might consider

    1. Norwegian police officers do not carry guns, neither do the toll officers. In real life they have guns in their police car which they are only allowed to equip if in dangerous situations.

    2. The Securitas officer should be able to call cops, ambulances or fire vehicles. (Fire vehicles should also be callable from the police aswell as doctors)

    3. In Norway the fire department have vehicles that drive around patrolling, they are called on in any kind of accident.

    4. I have seen mods where you can have persons patrolling the streets, this is a common sight in Norway in bigger cities for Securitas and Police officers. Maybe this is something you could look into if possible.

    5. The riot officers should have a "defensive stance" option that will work like the fence. This will make civilians stay away from the officers in the direction of the unit, so you can actually control a riot with them. This should if possible be toggleable.

    6. I am not sure how the modding compability with models are, but in Oslo there is alot of Horseriding officers. Maybe this is a challenge for you guys if you get bored? Based on the motorcycle officer with mount/unmount. :)

    7. Having a option on vehicles that will make the car drive through traffic or just normal speed with traffic when right clicking somewhere. Not all the situations need a car to drive through traffic. (Winterberg has this feature, it's toggled by the lightbar button).

  4. Stop giving members a hard time for wanting a release date, this thread first came in August 2010. It's your very own choice to go public with your development, so for the grace of her majesty suck it up or stop doing everything in public.

It's like telling hungry people you're making them food, yet you only show them pictures of the food you're making and when they ask for when it's done you slap their fingers. That is not right in my opinion.

  5. Well then, go make your own mod if you think its so easy.

You really think that a modder have all time to work on the mod but thats wrong. It can take time accept that or leave.

You are talking against yourself, if you're saying that modders don't have time to do everything on their own. Then why don't they accept help from the community to make a good mod together?

There is too much "I want power" people here, only reason I am kinda arguing here is because 90% of the mods are cancelled due to the mod-owner not beeing able to handle the huge amount of work that is put on him. And I really would like to see this mod come out, but have a feeling that if it takes over 2 years to make it, it won't be at all.

And I have made my mods in the past, made everything from new vehicles to custom roadtraffic stop scripts. And it sure as hell did not take me 2 years, do you know why? Because I did not refuse or get agressive towards those who offered help.

Anyway, I won't argue anymore. I've said whats on my mind and I intend to let this be the last word from my part at least.

    Good luck modding.

  6. Poeples there will "make" on it so, will not make it like it should be and maybe bad moddelers and so also will help so we have a big proplem...

Fact the game is destroyed think over it before you write ... :1046276160_schildbacktotopic:

Ok, you don't know shit about open source. Haha!

A OS admin have to accept all the contributions made by other members. Basically other people do the work for the admin, then he includes the projected files if thinks it's fitting. So the "Think over it before you write" don't apply to me as I sure know what I am talking about.

Well, I am not trying to force you. Just telling you that it's lame for a mod to take 2years unless it's a whole new "LA:MOD" category.

  7. Yup, im in charge so i pick to release it when its done.

Just as Magnus malte said, its better to release a whole mod than a not done one!

And the New york mod have actually been in work for 2 years now so..

    /matte

You seem to not understand what "open source" means. It's a never-finishing project which let other people help out and contribute to your modification. It will make the progress work alot faster and more people would use the game. So just because NY:MOD used 2years you are going to do the same? Why not be the better part here?

Well well, it's your mod. This was just a suggestion which in reality works alot better, if you need proof go ask google dev's or any other dev who is using sourceforge etc.

  8. I don't know why people don't release their current work and make it "open source", then other people can help out and together we create one of the most awsome mods ever?! Usually people create a mod and then people have to wait years before it's getting out, I am not saying I demand you to make any mods, but the fact that you brief of with a mod in early 2010 and one year later it's still not complete.

  9. Hey! This was originally my Idea! GIMME SOME CREDIT FOR THE IDEA, lol. nixweiss.gif

But otherwise, hey want some help? I got Visual Studio 2010 Pro, (legit) and Adobe Master Collection CS5.

Hehe, well I've been working on this long before I saw your post TBH (:

You can contact me via skype if you wish, skype name is the same as my forum name.

Sounds good but one thing: NY mod isnĀ“t released yet, are you referring to LA mod or NY submod?

NY:Submod which I call NY:MOD, but it is ofcourse compatible with LA:MOD aswell. My mistake to not clarify this.

I have corrected this now ofc.

  10. If this works your a genius, I could have used this myself I had to reinstall all of my mods (had a file mess up someplace). I can see the potential applications, and I'm sure will save a lot of extra headaches if it reaches it's full potential.

Ohh, sounds legit. Will give it my best to get it available asap (:

  11. About EMCG (Emergency Configurator)

Basically this software is made for those who are playing the Los Angeles modification and New York sub-modification for Emergency 4/911 First responders. The software will work for both normal and deluxe versions. The main goal is to make it easy for people to edit their settings and game-configuration for the game.

In a longer timespan the goal is for it to have alot of different functions for different mods, but for a starter it will be focused towards the NY:MOD considering the amount of players using it.

Current features which are made for the release:

    • Basic settings, change your money and available vehicles.
    • Operation settings, change the different operation settings such as how often they are to occur etc.
    • Version checker, will automatically make sure you are kept up to date with the newest version.
    • Restore system, for those who have managed to corrupt their setting files. The software will repair all settings files.
    • LA:MOD settings, change your settings for your LA:MOD version.

Features which are under brainstorming (They might be added, and they might not be added):

    • Addon manager, install submods such as ++Units and other smaller changes to your NY:MOD.
    • NY:MOD download, have you re-installed your game? This option will download the latest version of NY:MOD or patch it if you have a older version.
    • Multiplayer system, see who is currently playing Multiplayer. Add your own "Game request" which others may join.
    • Online highscore chart, letting EMCG track scores about your gameplay and adding you to our very own Highscore chart.
    • Edit vehicles, make changes to your vehicles. Change their textures aswell as their sounds.
    • Edit units, change your units texture or sound. You may even change what items they are able to use.
    • Crashreport tracker, did your game crash? Then EFCG will be able to read the error packages and find out why. Then tell you how to avoid this in the future.
