  1. Not quite dead yet. I thought I would share some information so as to explain the apparent lack of progress with this modification. I work near full-time in EMS, I volunteer teaching first aid and CPR in the community, and on top of all of that I've applied for Medical School and am in the middle of the application cycle. Work is resuming shortly on this mod. I hope to push and get a release for you ASAP, but know that I always put quality over the speed of the release. To all those who expressed interest in helping with this modification I apologize for not getting back to you. I've sent you all messages. To those currently interested in helping, shoot me a message. I'll get back to you ASAP and I won't let your messages get eaten by my inbox like the others! To the rest of you, thanks for your continued support and patience. This is no easy feat.

  2. Akamai I know is a big time CDN (Content Distribution Network) company. Essentially they rent server space to allow big websites (think eBay, Facebook, etc) to serve up files to users. Essentially these websites pay Akamai to have copies of their website/files on servers around the world so that when you visit their website it will load quickly (since the content is theoretically pulled from a server that is geographically close to you). After a tiny bit of research it appears that Akamai also allows companies to serve files via P2P (peer-to-peer), which NetSession facilitates. At some point you downloaded a program which uses this method of delivery. The program was probably small and it installed NetSession which then proceeded to download the actual program you wanted. The file was not server from a server, but from other people running NetSession. Once done, and if left running, NetSession then uses your idle bandwidth to further the network. When someone else downloads the program they get part of it from you "eating" your bandwidth. Theoretically NetSession should throttle back when you use the computer but it will always leave some over head. Long story short, remove it.

  3. Welcome to the European Modding section! This is a meeting point for all European mod and content creators. It was set up due to the large, growing demand for European modding projects that, unfortunately, were being overwhelmed by the large amounts of newly created non-Euro modifications, leaving those mods in the shadows. We expect that this initiative will bring more attention to these projects and perhaps even allow and enable the community to work as a team, help each other and develop totally new projects under its own representation and separate sector. This section is divided in six sub-categories: Conceptual ModificationsModifications that haven't been released and are being worked on. Modding ResourcesA place where content creators share their work with the rest of the users, adding and developing them under this section. Hopefully, it'll grow into a big database where mod-creators can download and use the smaller components (models, textures, scripts, maps and tutorials) for their own projects. European Modding Discussion ForumIn here, you'll be able to share your doubts, ask for assistance and discuss general modding aspects with other users. Ideas / suggestions may also be posted in this category, since they're also modding concepts. Early Access / Alpha Stage ModificationsModifications that are very much a work-in-progress and/or an unstable build that is not quite a stable release build can be found here. These modifications may have bugs/performance issues since they are early-access (alpha version) mods. Modifications featured in this topic may not be fully operational or working correctly. After the first release (V.1) the topic will be moved to the General European sector. European SubmodsA sub-section dedicated to all the modding projects that are based on another standalone, larger and already structured modification. Hope you enjoy it here! This sector is currently being administered by me (Ghost), with external support from the Emergency-Planet Staff. On this initial phase, we're currently focusing on moving EU topics from the global section to the EU sector. Hopefully it won't cause much bother. Anything you need, contact me, I'll gladly help you out.
