Your chief goes by portable 1-1? or was he using a hand held?

The Department Chief is Car 1 on air no matter what..

The Dep. Depatment Chief is Car 2...

Fire Investigators are Car 3 and Car 4, Fire Prevention Inspector is Car 5, Public Education Officer is Car 6

Station Radios are as follows: (X is station number, 1 - 6)

District Chief: X-1

Dep. Dist. Chief: X-2

Senior Captain: X-3

next Senior Capt.: X-4

Junior Capt.: X-5

Then, there are usually 1 or 2 portables on each truck that are designated X-6 through X-8 or -9, that are used for Interior crews, or senior Fire Fighters operating away from other with radios

Clear as mud, right? :P

Also, on the accident from last night, it wasn't any of my friends, but one of my best friends knows who it was, and there was at least one fatality

Busy day here yesterday:

EPD executed a traffic stop about 3.5 miles pretty much right down the road from here. Guy took off on foot and got about 10 second of running time before the cop caught him. Turns out he had warants out of Alabama and had been on the run. Warrants were related to theft and PD ran a TV and Blu Ray player found the suspects truck. I didnt hear is they came back stolen or not but the cop seemed to be getting a bit annoyed because he had to repeat a serial number to dispatch like 4 or 5 times.

30-60 minuets later:

EPD or VCSO(Sheriff) again went for a traffic stop that resulted in a chase. They didnt go far but the suspects turned down a gravel driveway, I assume they thought it was a gravel road, and kept going untill they ran into a field and eventually got stuck. I think they pretty much gave up since there vehicle was stuck in the mud. This chase ended about one mile down the road from where I live.

Scott Township Dispatched Engine 1,Medic 1, Medic 3, and Rescue 3 may have gone to, for a MVA on Interstate 64 near Owensville(No not Evansville), now any idiot that knows the area can figure out this would be outside there district with out even knowing what there district is. Everyone was heading to the location when dispatch canceled and notified them it was Posey Counties district.

Perry Township dispatched "Oscar"/ Rescue 5 and Rescue 8 for an MVA where the people had waited 30 minuets to call 911. Rescue 5 was given the disregard from Rescue 8(EMS Supervisor)

had an interesting night. I took a lady to the hospital with chest pain, diff. breathing. turned out she was jsut wanting pain meds. Then later on we got a call for an unconcious/unresponsive female. enrout PD advised us they were on scene no pulse, not breathing. we got on scene started CPR and I dropped a combi tube down her. intercepted with medics half way to the hospital. they ended up calling the code.

well almost had a lockout......our main engine 33-12 is out of service due to maintenance and so we are left with engine 33-13 so we got the call to a lockout and realized no one took the lockout kit off of 33-12 and on to 33-13 so we had to sorta call for a mutual aid on a lock out....funny night

If it's the crash that was on highway 3 on boxing day, an ex lakeshore student died in the crash (reilly anzovino I think her name was), but it was a bad accident. very icy road conditions up your way im guessing. we didn't have too many incidents in Beamsville this last little while, except a male stuck in a cherry picker truck. the basket stopped operating and he was stuck 35 ft in the air for about 20 minutes. Lincoln aerial 1 came to rescue him.

Three Minutes ago I was posting here and there was a loud explosion. There is now an oak tree blocking my drive way ringing out a happy flicking new year to me.

THATS intense lol

In Buffalo right now, Ambulance Dispatch and Inspection (ADI) is holding I think 2 or 3 calls... and assault, and MVA, and a Difficulty breathing :P Considering at 00:01, 1/1/10 they erased all the (run) cards, and the last ambulance that cleared had a card of 17 (at 02:19), meaning there have been over 17 calls (thats the 17th to be cleared) in a little over two hours... And now they're holding two more... a person down, and another i didnt catch.. and now another assault, they're also sending one patient hot (Lights and Sirens) to Erie County Medical Center (ECMC), and Buffalo Fire Engine 1's got a call, a stroke patient, that still needs an ambo... craziness... Every transimssion is getting more and more frantic... I really feel for them tonight lol

EDIT: Add a Stabbing to that :P They've got Engines 1, 2, 3 and 21, and Ladder 2 all in a roughly 4 or 5 block area... they're going from call to call... on top of that, they've got 2 or 3 other calls in the city... And now a fall... man, I'm gonna have to turn my scanner off soon... I can't even keep track of who's where..

2nd EDIT: Well, at 02:46, they're adding 6 new medicals: 3 assaults, an MVA, a Leg Injury, and an Unknown Problem. Ladder 2's victim has a head injury (super-ficial from the sounds of it), and they've been waitin about 10 minutes for an ambulance. Its not ADI's fault, I personally blame the Rural/Metro Corporation. They've been screwing their employees and the City of Buffalo for years, or so I'm told. They aren't leaving enough Ambulances in service to cover the City. However, I don't think all the wine in France'd help tonight, they just added another unknown, and a Chest Pains call. They've also got 2 pedestrians struck, both required Hot transport.. man, I just about lost my coffee... an ambulance asked for Medic back-up, and the dispatcher replied with, "Are you kdding? No. You're goin alone. I'm sorry, but, I've got no one left." Well, the ambo came back with "Jeez, well, thank-you, very much." They're startin to get at each others throats lmfao!!

That just made my new year lol ^.

I'm glad I could provide some entertainment ;) lol And, to make matters worse, they had JUST gotten rid of almost all the holding calls and they needed 4 Ambulances to a house fire in the heart of the city. Engine 21 was first on scene, and requested the Balance of the Assignment for a working house fire, then reported they were throwing a ground ladder to remove 2 victims from the second floor front, and there were reports of 2 more persons inside. All said, fire was small but smokey, and 4 victims were removed by the Buffalo Fire Department

I got home on break from college and went to pick my pager up from the chief. He told me that things had been slow, and not to be too heartbroken if we didn't get anything in the time I was back. The next day we have a structure fire that reached 2nd alarm.... We spent 5 hours on scene, and the other departments were still mopping up hotspots after mine left
