I have a question..how much has to be changed in order to create a mod or sub mod based off of the LA Mod? If a mod has half new vehicles, half reskins, some changes in scripting for spawning points and parking spots,2 new fire station buildings, maybe some small changes to one of your maps, would that be able to be released?

I don't allow reskins from any other city besides LA. See first post for reasons.

Create that submod as a private mod first, present it (in 1 topic!!) somewhere on the forum and then we'll see if it can be released.

Half new vehicles and half reskins?

How would that work?

Well things like crown vics are pretty universal ya know. I think 99% of US police agencies use a crown vic, so for example in the LA Mod half of the police vehicles are basically re skins. The only changes in the crown vic models are the light bars.

Sorry to sound stupid but not sure what you mean. You mean, for example, your crown vics and ambulances cant be reskined to represent another US city?

You told jab(i think)that as long as there was one new model created it could be released, but I was double checking with you first.

I've rewritten (= not changed) the rules in the first post of this topic. I am going to hurt myself if they are still not clear.

To Xplorer4x4:

Ofcourse I don't allow people to release LA Mod textures which represent other cities.

If you can you show some of your own 3D-models (for that same mod), you might get permission to use some of my vehicles in yours.

For your information:

I've had 100's of messages from people who want to reskin everything in my mod to NYC emergency vehicles. How much easier can it be?? Changing vehicles skins is basicly a piece of cake compared to other modding aspects. And I'd like to add something else:

1. NYC vehicles look different than LA Mod vehicles. That means new models are necessary.

2. If you don't even want to learn 3D-moddeling you're lazy (in my opinion) and not capable to create a new mod, ever...

It's simple. Sorry for sounding harsh, but I thought I was clear about this.

Sorry for my intervention, but Hoppah si right, because is much more easy to change something done (realize) than starting from beginng. What will happend if everybody wants to change Hoppah's vehicles (mod) because he wants other (yours mod)? I dont want to make angry somebody with my post.

Some vehicles are universal vehicle types, the Ford Crown Victoria is a good example, the current one is generally accepted as the prefered vehicle to use since it is fine as it is, which is why Hoppah borrowed it from someone else. What he means in simple terms is sharing models sometimes because they already suit the purpose you need is fine if you're going to put in the effort on your own to create some of the other things you will need. It is far easier to have other people do the majority of the work for you in modding a game like this and slap on a new paint scheme than it is to take the time and effort to create the models you require, which takes an unreal effort on your part. People are specialists generally, some can model, some can script, some can skin, but if you're just a skinner chances are you will have a tough time finding models to use for "your" mod because unfortunately, those of you who do not model have no idea how long you can waste creating a single usable model.

A full completed model requires a skin, model, AND UV map, all of which takes time yes, but building a model and UV mapping the skin onto it takes the most time of all. Putting the model into a prototype is probrably the easiest task of all the things you have to do really... What is generally wanted is that people at least try to create their own things and try to learn how to modify themselves rather than rely on everyone else's efforts to build comprehensive mods. Others put in their time to learn how to do things and I believe most people feel other's could take the time to attempt to do the same efforts they have.

Some things not everyone can do, and that is fine... I will NEVER be a scripter, it is beyond my abilities to grasp all of that, but that only has a single way to go about it in order to make it work.... With modeling, UV mapping, skinning there are tons of various programs that you can work with that you might find more accomodating than Z2. I do not use Z2 to do my primary modeling because I find another app to be more accessable and faster for me than Z2 is, for Hoppah he prefers Z2 because it's what he understands and knows, it is not that hard to import files and adjust them as necessary should the import process be hampered by the program(s).

@MikeyPI thanks for specify, I mean for this people which wants to get another's work with no correction from their side (i hope you understand me :) ). This corporation between Hoppah's permission for using some things (from his mod) and other people which wants and can reskin (or make other changes which Hoppah gives permission ) etc are great, really.

Not harsh, just over reacting. I am not looking to start an argument; never was. You seem to have misinterpreted what I said. Its a common mistake I tend to make with text on a screen I suppose.

I was simply looking for clarification on something I think I recall you saying, that as long as there was a new model, it could be released with out even asking for permission. If thats not what you meant then all you had to do was offer a simple clarification on what you had said else where, not the first post,.

You seem to be stuck on a complete reskin of the LA Mod which as I explained above is not the case.

Anyways, thanks for your time.

@MikeyPI, what app are you using?

I use Z-Mod 1, the older brother of Z2, it is less glitchy and generally faster for me to use.... There are side effects to importing files made in Z1 into Z2, but generally as long as you remember how to undo it, it is not too painful.

COPYRIGHT BREACH??

is this released with your permission hoppah?

Lol don't worry I asked Hoppah if I could release the prototype and he said I could... Look at my topic.

Also, they are in no way related to Tony's lights. I have used the base lights to recreate the whole set of lights of it. I haven't used Tony's lights to guide me or to "copy" them.

How did you make it your lights turn off with the origional?

To be honest, I've only added about 40 lights to the original base lights of the unmarked patrol vehicle. Nothing more. I reckon that some lights, which were already there on the base model, was made by Hoppah, or MikesPhotos. But all the other lights that you can see (better in HD), you can easily see that I did them.

Hoopah, requesting you permision to release a few reskins.

AMR 2 Box Style - Not an LA Exclusive, but is used in LA:

http://forum.emergency-planet.com/index.ph...ic=6230&hl=

The EMS supervisor(white with red stripe) was shown in Mikesphotos and is LA based, the USFS Police(white with green stripe) isnt LA Exclusive but seeing as USFS Fire truck/fire fighters are included I suppose this wouldnt be to uncommon:

Hi Hoppah! I was wondering about the vehicles in my mod. All of them are made by cops and rihis, and they look pretty similar to yours. What happens if someone claimed that you madde it and I took it without your permission?

Anyway, may I use you Police Motorcycle? I think I might ask rihis to change it a little... :23_31_4:
