New Zealand Mod, (Invercargill map) -> concept idea.

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,   I Have no idea what the name of my account is but my online gaming name typically is Samuel the Terrible. I am an Eve Online player who is taking a break to let skills points train and wanted to try and learn how to and even produce a Mod for Emergency 5.

While I like to think I am cleaver I don’t know if I can pull this off however my goal is to make a map, new vehicle and personal models based on New Zealand units.

This is what I am thinking of doing and want to see what people think.

A map I want to produce based on satellite images from google earth (this happens to be of my neighbourhood) a town at the bottom of NZ called Invercargill.

Im not sure how big the map is but I want to (if possible make it aprox 6 blocks wide and 27 blocks long) from the city’s major park Queens Park, to the Hospital. The map would include upon release (should I get it that far) A hospital at the bottom of the map, a police station and fire station near the top of the map.

The fire station would include:

 - 4 Fire trucks (including four firemen, jaws of life, hoses, extinguishers 12 road cones),

 - 2 lader trucks (these would be of similar size to the default ladder truck in LA Mod em4 and have 4 people each + hoses),

 - 1 HAZMAT Command Truck (this would work like a normal hazmat truck just look like a NZ one with flood lights, command Antenor’s, (perhaps a fire drone on the top) carry 4     firemen and hazmat gear)

 - 1 Fire Chief Vehicle, This carriers the fire Chief

 - 6 Ambulances

 - 1 Medical Command Truck, This carriers the medical supervisor.

The Police station would include:

 - 4 Police Cars (2 officers per car)

 - 2 Mufti Cars (2 officers)

- 1 Detective car (mufti, probably SUV with swat drone)

- 1 Command truck with breath testing skin (carries swat equipment + 6 swat units, and normal officers can come here to get guns as they can with the detective car and the mufti cars)

***Please note all officers don’t carrier guns by default as officers in NZ are not usually armed***

City council building

 - 1 Animal Control vehicle with two control officers (for dog attacks, or stray dog missions (Hope to include those if possible))

 - 2 Tow units ( they would take a vehicle of map disappear loaded for 2 seconds then come back empty and park at the lot)

 - 1 Engineers Car + engineer for technical faults, level crossing traffic lights.

Currently I am working on a line map to show the layout of the map.  Here is some images for what units in NZ look like

I'm in full support of this. Would love to see a NZ mod for Emergency 5.

Also, you may find this site useful, features pictures and details of Fire Appliances within Invercargil and other emergency vehicles within NZ. http://www.111emergency.co.nz/F-I/InvercargillFB.htm

Oh, I completley agree hence the "wanted to try and learn how to and even produce a Mod for Emergency 5." This in my mind could take a year by my self taking into account the fact that know one really knows how it works, so at this point im working on planning more than anything and just wanted to see if there would be people who might be interested in a mod like this.

Not sure if you have seen them but there is a 7 part tutorial by 16tons but only the first vid has english subtitles

are you a real life firemen?

I'm a volunteer awaiting to go through my Recruits Course now. If you have any questions about or how things work within the NZFS you are free to contact me and I may be able to help you out.

Ah thats cool dude, I actually work with one of my local senior fire officers from time to time in theatre (i often work as an assistant theatre tech) I am wanting to train to be a Safety Officer this year so I can work as a safety officer in theatres and cinemas. No real interest in training as a fire officer, hate heat heights and well building fires scare me.   We do have a fun fire curtain at work though, weighs 12 ton
