Just as an FYI. Cranberry Township Volunteer Fire Company is unique in this area as Cranberry Township owns the vehicles and station thus allow the Volunteers to worry about fire fighting, training and admin instead of fund raising.

Here there website.

So in Western PA we have a group that part of the Fire departments called fire police.

Wiki info on Fire Police. Information on PA Fire Police

There not used ever where in PA but in my area they are. This is because it rather rural and not that many local cops if any. Some area are patrol by the state police.

Cranberry has a police department, but the Fire Police allows them to free up officers for other task and allow for smaller force then what would be required.

In some area Fire Police respond in there POV which has blue lights and may be marked with Fire Police. Of course in Cranberry they have to marked, red light Fire Police units. Fire Police 2 was a former IC unit I believe.

The above Barberton Explorer was a complete surprise to me as a friend who lives there did not know of its existence and couldnt tell me if its existence, I almost didnt get the shots due to me being on a bus 2 hours before that shot, and most out of toen police vehicles do not spend long times here at the courthouse area, It was still there when I returned from an appointment and let me tell you, taking my camera to the hospital with me is starting to pay off :)

Me and my family stayed in Independence when we went to visit Cuyhoga Vally. It was a very beautiful national park!

Hope you had a fun time in our area! Did you visit Cleveland as well?

I hope to someday capture more National Park Police, but not having a car really keeps that from happening lol

Here's my website and Facebook page of fire truck, ambulance and police car pictures (in that order [emoji1]). It's also probably in my signature, but I can't tell because I'm using Tapatalk on an iPhone. [emoji2]

Sad day here in Akron Ohio, Akron Police Officer Justin Winebrenner took his final ride to his resting place, over 1000 police officers from all over the region came to pay their final respects to Justin, representing more than 200 law enforcement agencies, Made their way from the Downtown Police Station through the southern part of Akron to his final resting place.

You could feel the emotion as it was passing by where I was photographing, Police officers in their memorial uniforms, some of them driving with their wives riding with them crying but trying to show brave faces.

Officer Winebrenner was a patron at a bar when the suspect got rowdy and was kicked out of the place, the guy came back with a gun and shot several people including Winebrenner who put himself between the suspect and customers and was shot as a result

You can find all of my uploaded photos from todays event here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/cak757/

Here is a small collection of the vehicles I captured today:

R.I.P to that officer, Seluryar. Did you happen to see Cincinnati Police there?

Also, here's a nice picture of the new (I believe it's new) FDNY Engine 23:
