  1. Back in the day I got EM4 running through a wine wrapper. After about 30 minutes of freeplay in LA Mod the iGPU would overheat and the game would die but I played the hell out of those 30 minutes.
  2. I haven't posted in like a year but god damn the hype is real right now!
  3. One other thing I forgot to mention, no freeplay events ever occur (10 minutes on 3x speed). I reinstalled, this time using the mediafire link rather than the mega and it works now, might want to check to see if that download is screwy. Thanks for the help.
  4. Okay, I may have missed something so I apologize in advance if I'm just an idiot. Does singleplayer freeplay mode work in this mod or is mine bugged? There's 2,500,000 in the bank from the start, the time is bugged, and no vehicles appear or can be called in (the commands go through but nothing ever shows). I've tried redownloading twice to no avail. If it's any help, this same thing happens in "The Riverside Mod". Again, I may have just missed the memo so sorry if that's the case.
  5. That's sad to hear. I've been quietly following this, and I'm sure a lot of people, including myself, will be disappointed if it never gets released. Let's hope for the best though, and maybe the modellers will pull through with their end of this.
  6. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought on the startup menu they previewed, it had an area selection menu, which had the 5 boroughs. I assume there is an area from each borough used as the map. EDIT: Sorry, my mistake, Post #2435 It shows just Manhattan. But it does show that there are multiple maps, so maybe the boroughs.
  7. No problem. It took me a while to figure out, so when I saw this I responded.
  8. Yes, just press Escape during freeplay, click main menu, and go to the save/load menu. From there you can save.
  9. Yes, this is a pretty epic dig, but I said I'd give an update, and I will. So I got an iMac, much, much better specs, but the same problem when I ran the game in VMware Fusion. I got back into the game, and as I played it more and more in VMWare, it seemed to crash in less and less time. Well, it got to the point where I'd experience the original problem reported here in ~5-7 minutes. After some hard work and searching, I set up bootcamp. I ran the game in Bootcamp, and it runs great. Besides some puzzling sound inconsistencies (like doors on cars/trucks or hoses being attached being much louder than sirens, and even that isn't consistent), I can play the game indefinitely without crashes. Anyways, I follow the forums pretty regularly now, looking forward to NY Mod.
  10. Alright, I think I figured out exactly what is wrong with bootcamp, so I'll just run it in bootcamp, like you said.
  11. Yeah I knew it wasn't designed for gaming, but bootcamp wasn't working, and Crossover Games (one designed specifically for gaming) wasn't running (crash post intro) so I tried VMWare Fusion. Do you think I could go in and delete whatever is overriding the Nvidia Drivers?
  12. So what does it mean, is it a driver issue or something? Btw, I know how to get bootcamp up and running, working on it now
  13. I know how to use it, but somethings f*cked up about it, so it's been my project this week, and of course playing EM4
  14. Yah, the only reason I'm using VMware is because bootcamp won't work. And I'm running XP SP3 Professional. I assume it's an overheating issue now because I turned up my fans from 4000rpm to 6000rpm and get about 10 more minutes in freeplay. If I get bootcamp working, I'll get back to you. Anyways, thanks for all the help. EDIT: I'm getting an IMac eventually, I'm gonna put in 8 GB of RAM
  15. Alright, heres the logfile. I really don't think its overheating, but I am running windows in an emulator: I'll try with bootcamp. logfile.txt
