Todays NYstalgia Spec post. Very few 1991 caprices were purchased by the NYPD and they were bought in two batches. The first batch of 1991 Caprices had the same striping from the original 1973 design. The second batch introduced the NYC POLICE livery which was used until 1993 with some variations through the 3 years3 points

In a hillarious bit of luck, an authentic NYC DOT tow truck has been found in an unlikely place - the original Men In Black film.3 points

It's been a while. First thing I can say is that we've been gifted new spec found. MotoStringer got us a new McCormick ambulance variation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW1o6nyKWko This guy is legit as hell, if you're interested in these retro tapes, give him a sub. Another update is progress is coming really slowly. Recently, I began to texture the civilian vehicles and vehicle bases for additional units. This one's special - I've been meaning to get one made to replace the Jeep model we already have. Texture and miscellaneous parts by Yankee43. He did a great job and I hope you guys can give him some love too. With all this in mind, I'll cut back the traffic set even more. I'm not really getting as far as I want to with progress. I'll revert back to my original concept of replacing only the bare minimum, or else I'll never complete these assets, at the current rate of work.2 points

this should help you guys if you need references. https://www.fdnytrucks.com/index.htm has stuff from the 80's to modern day1 point

Hey buddy, glad to see your work. I found a pair of Facebook Groups that maybe can help you. This first one is about LA Area emergency servicies history: https://www.facebook.com/groups/616293649975537/ This one is about the Pacific Coast Fire Apparatus. Maybe a too big, but from some Federal and State Agencies/Servicies, can bring you some help: https://www.facebook.com/groups/457459961500699 Cheers buddy! Keep it up1 point

It's been slow going for progress from me. I've sadly, not been able to do very much. This is one of the 87-89 Mack Pumpers, early WIP. More to come in the future, but I make no promises.1 point

Hello gents! I hope everything is well for you. I just wanted to drop a quick post to apologize for both the very slow progress on the sub-mod and my absence. During the last three months or so, I've been fully committed to learning C# and SQL coding for a (hopefully) new job, which has been taking up a significant chunk of my free time. As a result, I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would love to this project. Rest assured, tho, that I haven't forgotten about it. I'm still working on it albeit at a slower pace. I appreciate your patience and understanding. Until next time, gents! - LibertyWings1 point

No, you get downvoted into oblivion if you do anything other than look at the occasional screenshot. I have been following this thread on and off for years. Don't hold your breath.1 point

I get both sides But the minor once in a while glitch I had was not enough for me to stop enjoying it. I lost my computer so I am rebuilding everything ad I missed this one. Put a play at your own risk label on it and let people enjoy it as it was, no one is forcing you to play it if you're unhappy. I know life happens I had a major life shift too I get it. It also irks me when someone starts a project, stops moving to another, and never finishes the first. If you do that then don't say anything I hate getting excited about something for nothing. (like the NY MOD)1 point

Hes been working on this for like 3 years, in the last 3 years hes also done a ton of other projects, thats why i am saying they need to work on 1 at a time instead of 50 at a time It still doesnt make sense why they had to completely get rid of the montana mod download link1 point

NGL I am, like many others, tired of all these mods that people start developing, then drop the project to work on another one, and that is a continuous cycle. I dont get why the download link had to be removed, let us play the old montana mod while we wait for the new one to finish if it ever gets finished.1 point

Anyway still sharing if people would like a version to play. If you google montana mod v2 it will come up with a link to a steam conversation with a link to the mod if people would like a copy and I can no longer share. The unfortunate thing with a game like EM4 is it attracts a lot of people who like the rules too much...1 point

I hope this dosen't break the rules (if it is then don't answer) but, could you estimate the overall % of the entire mod? (including units, scripts, maps, etc.)1 point

Here is the inital set of volunteer firefighter POV's for the mod. These are all real-life vehicles owned by members of our community. No lights on these, still working on that. If you would like your real-life vehicle featured in the mod, feel free to post your vehicle make, model, color and any light setup you are running. You don't need to tell me your location or license plate or anything that can dox you. I lack another 4 out of the 10 I need. Credits to Carman and LA mod team for the Jeep Grand Chrokee. Yankee43 for the Ford Ranger. EA Games for the Dodge Ram conversion. Special thanks to SlateDragon for allowing use of the white F150 POV from West Falls mod.1 point

Looking back on a year ago, I will admit to over-reacting by prematurely saying that I'd quit modding. It was an emotional response that I should have handled better. It would have been far more rational if I released a statement saying that I'd be taking a break from modding to clear my head. That's what I ultimately ended up doing anyway, and clearing my head indeed produced good results. In keeping with that spirit, I've finally finished putting lights on the fire and EMS units, with help from hqueen. Yay attachments and smileys work again The Chevy battalion chief is lighted, its just that the picture was taken on a bad "frame" where the lights happen to be flashing off.1 point

Ford F650, work in progress. Side portion of model created using MikeyPI's F350 model. This truck is destined to be a DNRC brush truck or engine. Still not sure what setup to give it, most likely a wildland configuration. No work has been made with the heal script, I might just release it with a rudimentary setup and give it a more accurate setup at a later date.1 point

It's just a little modification, but I plan to do a full-length Raccoon City mod with the 1990s vehicles, a new map, new skins for police officers, firefighters and paramedics, all based on Resident Evil's Raccoon City. Important: Use this submod only in Los Angeles Mod 2.1! How to install: Just move or copy the "Models" folder to the Los Angeles mod folder. Credits: Hoppah, creator of Los Angeles mod. Extracted and edited firefighter skins from the mod New York City Modification 1.01, credits to MikeyPI. All police vehicles are based on the following Resident Evil: Resident Evil 2 Resident Evil 2 Remake Resident Evil 3 Resident Evil Outbreak File 1 and 2 Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City All fire and paramedic vehicles are based on the following Resident Evil: Resident Evil 2 Remake Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City Note: This is my first time creating mod for Em4, so there may be bugs, report all the bugs you see, I'll try to fix them all and sorry for my bad english, I'm Brazilian.1 point -

This right here ^ Keep in mind as well that when we had the last release available to the public, the sentiment was quite different, while there was a lot of positivity in regards to the content of the mod, we were also getting flooded with bug reports and reports of the mod crashing to desktop quite frequently. The impression we were getting was that it was unplayable for a good number of people, and we couldn't immediately find the fixes, so we figured better to pull it until we had a stable version. I can't speak for Itchboy, I just know he's been tied up with real life in recent months. As for me, I have quite a lot going on as well, most recently with family, educational commitments, and working to further advance my career. That being said, I am definitely still committed to this project and I am still actively working on it. Itchboy has been busy, but he's left me with lots of updates and a good template to continue working from. We definitely want to get an updated and stable version out to the public sometime in the next year or so.-1 points

I'd like to add on to this statement, there is loads of progress that was made on this mod(not a mod team member). As far as itchboy goes, he has been put out of commission temporarily by a Weather events that has happened in his home country. Life like always will continue to take priority over a 16 year old game that every mod is being made for free, modding is not a career in the EM4 community. My last little bit to say is be patient, Itchboy will be back, there is lots of things that he is able to work on just not able to show. Bama, You and itch have made an amazing product with the mod. I look forward to seeing the finalized product. Amazing Work!!-1 points

whoa, whoa! You can't just go off installing any mod you want! First, you need to give me the big number on the front of your mom's credit card, along with the 3 small numbers on the back, and dont forget the expiration date. /s ^^^For legal reasons, that was a joke. This mod isn't released.-1 points

Itchboy will be finished when he's finished. It took six plus years for the Miami Mod to finally be released and its a gorgeous piece of work that several people worked very hard on. Have patience and when the mod is released, you'll be able to enjoy it along with the rest of us.-1 points
-
Again, I direct you and others to the Miami Mod which was first released in 2009 and didn't see Version 2 until February of 2020. I don't see anyone complaining about how long the wait was now that its released and is a great mod. These modders devote their free time to this. This isn't their job nor do they make any money from it. So shove off, it'll be done when its done, unless you and the other complainers want to keep nagging and drive the creators off of the site like what happened with NYC version 2 back in 2015? This is mostly about private mods, but it covers impatience as well.-1 points

So needless to say it's been a hot minute since v2.5 has been released. I hate to be negative on such a phenomenal project, and I hate to sound ungrateful, but I wish we had a 2.6 by now. I have no idea how much work has been done to 2.5 since release, but I wish we had just a slightly polished version of 2.5 before we hopefully see a v3 one day.-1 points
