  1. It's been slow going for progress from me. I've sadly, not been able to do very much. This is one of the 87-89 Mack Pumpers, early WIP. More to come in the future, but I make no promises.

  2. It's been a while. First thing I can say is that we've been gifted new spec found. MotoStringer got us a new McCormick ambulance variation. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vW1o6nyKWko This guy is legit as hell, if you're interested in these retro tapes, give him a sub. Another update is progress is coming really slowly. Recently, I began to texture the civilian vehicles and vehicle bases for additional units. This one's special - I've been meaning to get one made to replace the Jeep model we already have. Texture and miscellaneous parts by Yankee43. He did a great job and I hope you guys can give him some love too. With all this in mind, I'll cut back the traffic set even more. I'm not really getting as far as I want to with progress. I'll revert back to my original concept of replacing only the bare minimum, or else I'll never complete these assets, at the current rate of work.

  4. Hello gents! I hope everything is you well for you. I just wanted to drop a quick post to apologize for both the very slow progress on the sub-mod and my absence. In the last three months or so, I've been fully committed to learning C# and SQL coding for a (hopefully) new job, which has been taking up a significant chunk of my time. As a result, I haven't been able to dedicate as much time as I would like to this project. Rest assured, tho, that I haven't forgotten about it. I'm still working on it albeit at a slower pace. I appreciate your patience and understanding. Until next time, gents! - LibertyWings

This first one is about LA Area emergency servicies history: https://www.facebook.com/groups/616293649975537/ This one is about the Pacific Coast Fire Apparatus. Maybe a too big, but from some Federal and State Agencies/Servicies, can bring you some help: https://www.facebook.com/groups/457459961500699 Cheers buddy! Keep it up

  15. So the mod takes place in 1993, At least as a starting off point. In 1987 the NYPD switched to DAO stainless steel revolvers (Smith and Wesson Model 64 with a bobbed hammer) which were used until 1993 The NYPD field tested ruger semi autos prior to 1993 with special units getting them before patrol. These were all recalled prior to the roll out of Semi autos (Sig, Glock and S&W) which were rolled out in the July 1993 police academy class which hit the streets in January of 1994. During this time ESU had Mini14s and MP5s. No NYC agency ever issued a Beretta pistol to police officers. Transit is a different story. The chief of police for transit who later became the commissioner for the NYPD and the Chief for the LAPD modernized Transit faster then most agencies in the NYC area, Introducing Glocks in 1990 which caused a disagreement between Transit and the NYPD and as a result the NYPD denied them use of the department range

  20. I've played Emergency 4 since I was a kid but never saw a Romanian mod. I always enjoyed Polish & German mods but as a Romanian I want to make something for my people who are passionate about this game. I'm starting little by little with the cars.

  21. You could try redownloading the mod, or using WinRAR to open it instead of windows' default zip browser. This is an issue I completely overlooked - the save system. Thank you for posting the log file and debug lines, because I know what I've done wrong. I'll have to look into this in the future. I don't know if the Use command got broken again but it seems to work fine on my end. Could be another script interfering with the use command.
    1 point
  22. Both of these things are intentionally capped by script. Adjusting them without knowing how the code works can cause undesired behavior. I am still on the fence with how I will arrange things in the coming updates to the mod. Specifically, I can't have more BCSO cars until I make all the bases needed for them, which could take however long. I don't want to include repeats of existing vehicles, for sake of pumping the numbers up. Regarding volunteer firefighters, the reason I asked for people's real life POV's was a fun way of adding more volunteer personnel to the mod so that more personnel can be playable. Thank you for doing the research on this one. I have evidence now and I can make that judgement call with the mod. I'll have it be courtesy lights by default (as it is now) and sort out the lights/sirens commands later on. I still don't know how I'll proceed with that because Dillon's batt chief appears to also be a POV, while Lima VFD has a dedicated vehicle. Maybe I'll keep their speed the same but remove the sirens from the 2 chief vehicles.

  23. Hello guys, I know it's been almost two months since you last heard from me and I'm sorry for about taking so long. I'm not much of a speaker, so I'm going straight to the point. Due to RL circumstances, the development of this sub-mod is temporarly on hiatus. Before you ask: no, I'm not abandoning the project. That would mean waste weeks of work and fatigue so nah, not going to happen. But for the moment... well... I'm not in the right mood to continue. Don't worry, as I promised earlier on the thread, I WILL deliver. But for now, I'm taking some rest from modding. Stay safe and I wish you well

  26. Thanks for reporting this softlock condition. This was something I totally missed and I'm now looking into it. Can't thank you enough for the finds you're making. You are the man. The Lima ambulance has been known for a while but I wanted to do the Chevy instead of the Ford. I think I'll just do that one and add it together with the lineup even if the timeline is unspec. I'd like to have more content in here even if it's pushing the timeline quite a bit. I don't know how far I want to take the concept. It should be easy to have ELS be toggled too.

  28. Back from another long hiatus from the forums to give my interpretation of Montana statutes, cause I'm weird. Montana vehicle code 61-9-227 seems to imply that not having a siren is what differentiates a volunteer firefighter's POV from an authorized emergency vehicle. (61-9-227. Blinker-type or revolving red light on certain private vehicles -- use -- identification card, MCA (mt.gov)) Montana vehicle code 61-9-401 "Horns, Security Alarms, and Warning Devices" describes the conditions for use of a siren as this. (61-9-401. Horns, security alarms, and warning devices, MCA (mt.gov)) So, I dug a little more. I found Montana code 61-8-102, which provides a definition.. of a definition of what Montana considers an authorized emergency vehicle. (61-8-102. Uniformity of interpretation -- definitions, MCA (mt.gov)) However, the statute that specifies a volunteer firefighter being permitted a light on the front or top of his vehicle does seem to provide a description that wouldn't allow the vehicle to meet the conditions for having a siren and being classified as an emergency vehicle. Montana code 61-9-402 describes the signaling equipment for an authorized emergency vehicle as such. (61-9-402. Audible and visual signals on police, emergency vehicles, and on-scene command vehicles -- immunity, MCA (mt.gov)) The raw legal definition of an authorized emergency vehicle as described in Title 7, Chapter 33 appears to not have been published online or is hiding in a section of the statute that is marked as reserved, because I went through every single article in the chapter and couldn't find it. So, in short, I don't think that POVs in Montana would meet the other signaling requirements of the law to be able to be classed as an authorized emergency vehicle and then use a siren. Though I am tempted now to contact the Montana Highway Patrol and find out. Hope this is helpful. Otherwise I typed a lot to look like a moron.

And besides, wouldn't it be dull to play a Gotham-themed submod without any extra flavour? Hope you like it!

  31. Surely I could have packed my words in cotton and worded my comments nicer @Xplorer4x4, you ain't wrong. However, I feel like this community has cared long enough to be as nice as possible trying to get points across and it never worked. A harsher tone was needed to get my point across, and I'm glad it worked. It has sparked major discussions on Discord and I'm glad about the open discourse. My point still stands though. Gatekeeping sucks.

  32. Blast from the past here with my 2 cents, and I agree with both sides. @annabellica I believe you could find more grace with your wording, but I don't completely disagree. I haven't played an updated version, so there is that but of all mods that I played this was my least favorite. I will have to boot up a new version and see what has changed. @itchboy while I agree in terms of respect, and I say this with all due respect, I have to disagree in terms of gatekeeping. What harm would a seperate thread of screenshots be at best? So it's cool that the modders like ourselves get to have the enjoyment of others seeing our work but to deny that to others? We are all in this for one reason, enjoyment. No one here is trying to make a profit so why is it so hard for everyone to essentially just open source everything and share open and freely? I get from experience it is a very time consuming process, but it's not like there is another English based outlet for mods these days making it obvious if someone has used another's work without giving credit.

  33. What confusion would accurate edits cause? I find you a lot more confusing, working on Airport apparatus without planning an Airport (?), French Missionspec vehicles (?) and so many more vehicles that make absolutely no sense + that you do not even plan on releasing. You work on Nicklaus ambulances but have completely ignored the Miami Beach Fire Rescue ambulances in its entirety - even though the map is set in Miami Beach. Nicklaus isn’t even anywhere near MB. What even is FHP doing there? There is no FHP in MB. You rarely ever see MDFR in MB - where is the MBFD? A second firestation doesn‘t fix the inaccuracy. You‘d rather see red Miami FR Ambulances than a Dade one. It’s just all so wrong I strongly believe anybody out here making edits makes them for the sake of finally bringing some accuracy to the mod. You make edits for… I don’t even know for what. 99% of the time it makes no sense. These downvotes also just add to the comedic effect, honestly.
    1 point
  34. It's simply a private edit that's being showcased to the public with no intention to releasing it out to them.
    1 point
  35. How is stating a fact insulting? For years, nobody dared to say it publicly. Do you think it feels amazing being the only person daring to take it to a public forum? It's disappointing, yes. To everybody who has been to Miami, has a general interest in the area, or lives here. Especially those who waited a long time back then. But it wouldn't have been so disappointing if a specific person wouldn't gatekeep edits. There are so many talented people in this community, yet they aren't allowed to edit? If this is not the definition of a fragile ego, I don't know what is. By the way - I do have the skills. I've probably done more things for and in this community than you think - which is fine. Point being is that there's not just me, but many people willing to turn this mod around and make it a true, accurate mod. Yet - we can't. Well, we can.. technically. Technically everybody can do whatever they want. And that's how communities thrive. To be open to change and knowledge, instead of buildings walls.
    1 point
  36. If you believe what I said was insulting; then that is on you. There absolutely aren't enough modders because mods are being gatekept like this. Any sort of criticism in this community is being met with a shocked Pikachu emoji. People get offended at the smallest things. Ego's crushed by retexturing apparatus. Do you even see what's happening? Have you even read your response to my comment? Did you even fully understand my comment at all? This mod is a living example of why the community is the way it is. "Don't edit" - "Don't retexture" - "Don't showcase". If this mod would be the epitome of a Miami experience, I would understand. But it is FAR from. Different opinions exist, I am not judging yours. I'm just really tired of the way it's already normalized to gatekeep mods due to fragile ego's. So no, I'm not bowing down. If you believe that's a shame and laughable, keep going. Edit: Also, I don't see how I've insulted EM-C. Stating facts is not insulting, it's really needed. Criticism is needed. If we all keep affirming bad practices, we get nowhere. What you get in the end is the EM4 community. Maybe if we wouldn't act like fragile snowflakes, we'd be in a much better position. Admitting when mods aren't the way they're supposed to be and blaming lack of content and skilled modders on gatekeeping the simplest things. Sayonara ♥
    1 point
  37. Just do it. Realistically, what is EM-C gonna do? Gatekeeping a mod which is extremely mid (nobody dares to admit it) and so unbelievably off in basically every way imaginable is just plain insulting to everybody who lives in the Dade area. This mod is a fever dream of somebody who has no interest in accuracy and completely disregards the actual look and feel of Miami / Miami Beach. EM-C made his own weird version of Miami with this mod - How this has taken over 10 years is still absolutely beyond me. I understand the map texture itself was unchangable until I released my reverse-engineering tool, but it is so incredibly basic and inaccurate. I've talked to A LOT of people in the community over the past 12 months regarding this mod, and nearly every single person agrees (while not always publicly) that this mod is... "not as it should be". Everything about it is wrong. From the bottom of everybodies heart: showcase the edits! Downvotes just prove my point btw. Gatekeeping sucks.

  38. Very long time since I was last active, but I have to say this team has done one awesome job. Glad to comeback after years and still find great modding activity out there. Just an offer if you have any interest: For my own personal edit of 2.01, I added to the fire station so the brush is in its own bay and door where it parks. If you all have any interest in it for your work, I would be glad to send it to your team.

  41. Version 0.5.4

    2,078 downloads

A plugin for Emergency 5/2016, providing some new commands. Mostly intended to be used by mod authors or mappers who want to create maps with separate parking spaces and stations. But most functions are also usable for normal maps - just install and activate the testmod. New Commands Turn siren, head-, blue-, and warninglights on and off If a vehicle is sent back to HQ, it waits until all crewmembers it came with entered the vehicle (they do automatically). Criminals and victims get handled automatically, too. If someone can't enter for some reason due to injuries or otherwise, they will be ignored. Boats and robots get loaded up automatically. When holding CTRL or STRG when sending vehicles back, crewmembers enter the vehicle, but the vehicle does not return to HQ. When a new vehicle gets ordered from the menu, the following happens: If a vehicle of the same type is already on the map and on the way to HQ, this one will get called. If this is not the case, a new vehicle will appear as usual. To make sure this works as it should, vehicles returning to HQ are not selectable. There's a new button above the minimap, which shows a list of all units on the map. When doubleclicking on a unit, the camera focuses on it, and, if possible, the unit will be selected. Selected units have a darker background. The coloured square shows the state of the unit (only used for vehicles at the moment). Green means it's ready for new orders (i.e. returning to HQ), yellow means it's in use. Red means destroyed, but this is not yet working correctly. It's possible to place parking spaces in the editor. Instead of returning to HQ, vehicles try to find a free parking space and park there. Special parking spaces for hospitals (unload victims) and prisons (unload criminals) are also available. There are a few of these parking spaces on the testmap. To ensure everything works correctly, automatisms were turned off. Sadly this is pretty annoying, but they don't work well the ambulance and the new ReturnToBase command. The names of all new commands for mod authors: user::ReturnToBase - Vehicle waits for crewmembers and searches parking space user::VehicleControlCommand - Shows a second row of commands to control lights and siren The names of the following commands should be self explanatory. These commands are available with the one above (user::VehicleControlCommand), and I recommend to only use that one. The following commands need some work to be able to use them normally: user::BluelightsOffCommand user::BluelightsOnCommand user::HeadlightsOffCommand user::HeadlightsOnCommand user::SirenOffCommand user::SirenOnCommand user::WarninglightsOffCommand user::WarninglightsOnCommand The code for the plugin is available too, and should be documented reasonably well. Supported Emergency 5/2016 version: 2.1.0

  44. Saying EmC has a fragile ego and that he is gate keeping is somewhat insulting, Just because you don't like it and have access to his work to do as you please. It is up to modders to decided what happens with their work after release. I'm all for criticism too but this has to be done constructively. If your that disappointed with the mod why not take the time to learn the skills and develop one yourself?

  45. I'll just lay it out here before things get too heated - any mod has the right to be called unspec. That's freedom of speech and no different than say, me calling any other project as unspec. I look at things and call them unspec all the time. However, calling something unspec and gatekeeping are two separate issues being conflated into one discussion. I'll be watching the thread for now; it gets locked if people can't play nice. The usage terms of the mod are to be respected, that's just it. Not up for debate. That's not gatekeeping. That's respecting individual rights. What is allowed though, is the creation of any other Miami themed project as long as it doesn't infringe on others' asset usage terms. Nobody has a monopoly on a Miami project. If you can do it better, go for it. If I were to suggest a healthier point of discussion - make a new thread about a new mod idea, featuring something else like mainland Miami City, the 'glades or any of the suburbial areas in the county area. Option C would be a team effort among the factions to create proper spec for Miami Beach FD and PD. I leave it to you people to work this out moving forward.
